Tony and Olivier Award-winner John Caird (Les Misérables and Nicholas Nickleby), West End rising star Sam Caird, and Tony nominee Paul Gordon (Jane Eyre) recently arrived in Ventura to begin rehearsals for a new holiday musical entitled LITTLE MISS SCROOGE, which will be presented as a limited-run staged concert for Rubicon Theatre subscribers, December 12 through 23, 2012. Theatre in the Square's first season included a revival of the 1939 Broadway hit, The Little Foxes. In the theatre's 29th Season, the American classic of greed, deception, corruption and manipulation will once again grace the Main Stage of the converted cotton warehouse that is now Theatre in the Square. THE GIVER, with a book by Lois Lowry and Nathan Christensen, music by Scott Murphy, and lyrics by Nathan Christensen, will hold a premiere reading at the Theatre Company at CAP21 on November 23rd. The cast for the reading will include Nick Blaemire, Vivienne Cleary, Jeff Edgerton, Frank Galgano, Bridget Harvey, Jaimie Kelton, Heather Matarazzo, Kathleen Oliva, Eric Peterson, and Nick Wyman. The reading will be directed by Pamela Berlin.
