Opening Friday, Apr 7 on Second Stage at the Players Club of Swarthmore is Puffs, or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic, a comedy by Matt Cox, directed by Taylor Kellar.

The Players Club of Swarthmore presents Dealer's Choice, a comedy by Patrick Marber, directed by Jeff Berry, on the Raymond W. Smith stage. Performances are Apr 5 and 6 at 8 p.m., Apr 7 at 2 p.m., Apr 11 at 7:30 p.m., Apr 12 and 13 at 8 p.m., 2019.

The Players Club of Swarthmore presents Reefer Madness, with music by Dan Studney, book and lyrics by Kevin Murphy, directed by Thomas-Robert Irvin of Swarthmore, on the Raymond W. Smith stage.

Broadway-bound new musical, Come From Away, presented by Seattle Repertory Theatre, wins four Gypsys, tying with another new musical, Lizard Boy, also produced by Seattle Repertory Theatreand also with four Gypsys, a company that has been known for years as a powerhouse dramatic straight-play playhouse! 

Seattle Theater Writers critics' circle is pleased to present the nomination slate of the fifth annual Gypsy Rose Lee Awards, theater awards devoted to recognizing excellence across the economic spectrum of professional Seattle theaters in the prior calendar year.

Another favorite Lord Peter Wimsey novel comes to the stage this fall as Taproot Theatre presents Dorothy L. Sayers' classic mystery, Gaudy Night. Harriet Vane's Oxford reunion is terrorized by murderous threats from the "Poison Pen," a vicious vandal determined to destroy our heroine and everything she holds dear. Is her sleuthing enough to apprehend the villain? And where is Lord Peter when she really needs him? Producing Artistic Director Scott Nolte directs Frances Limoncelli's adaptation of Gaudy Night, which opened last night, September 21 and runs through October 20. Taproot Theatre continues its 34th season in March with the regional premiere of Brooklyn Boy by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Donald Margulies. As Margulies' newest play receives rave reviews on Broadway, Seattle audiences are in for a treat as his comedic and heartfelt play about middle aged novelist Eric Weiss comes to the Northwest for the first time. In Brooklyn Boy, Eric finally starts to come of age-a couple decades too late. He's finally made it big with a best seller and a shot at a Hollywood film, but then an inconvenient phone call brings him back to the Brooklyn neighborhood he grew up in and happily left behind. Witty and deeply touching, this story of growing up, coming home and making sense of it all is sure to warm your heart. Directed by associate artistic director Karen Lund, Brooklyn Boy opens tonight, March 19, and runs through April 17.
