Book-It Repertory Theatre and the UW School of Drama are collaborating for the second year in a series that explores potential adaptations for future main stage productions at Book-It. Four evenings of readings will take place at the Meany Studio Theatre on the Seattle campus. MFA acting, directing and design students present selections developed through intensive workshops and master classes. Selections for the 2013 series include: The Count of Monte Cristo, Run, The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, and Portrait of a Lady.

Bill Rauch Awarded Zelda Fichlander Award by Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation

Bill Rauch, Artistic Director of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) is the 2012 recipient of The Zelda Fichandler Award recognizing an outstanding director or choreographer who is transforming the regional arts landscape through imaginative, brave work in theatre. The $5000 award, given by Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation, heralds both accomplishment to date and promise for the future, and commends deep commitment to a community.

Snow Falling on Cedars, the acclaimed best-selling novel by David Guterson, comes to life this winter at Hartford Stage in a fresh adaptation by Kevin McKeon. Former Hartford Stage Associate Artistic Director Jeremy B. Cohen returns to direct the East Coast premiere of the play. The production closes at the Tony Award-winning theatre February 13.

Red Ranger Came Calling was first performed in 2003 for Book-It's 14th season, and by popular demand was reprised in 2004. Berkeley Breathed's illustrated classic returns again for Book-It Repertory Theatre's 21st season adapted and directed by Myra Platt with music by Myra Platt and Edd Key. Red Ranger is a fun, affordable holiday show that runs from November 23 until December 23 in the Eve Alvord Theatre at Seattle Children's Theatre, with previews November 23, 24, 26 and 27.

Book-It Repertory Theatre is presenting the second half of their outstanding rendition of John Irving's classic novel with "The Cider House Rules, Part Two: In Other Parts of the World". And it's no surprise that this production is just as stellar as its predecessor and perhaps even more so.

Book-It Repertory Theatre finishes off their 20th anniversary season by revisiting one of their earlier works, "The Cider House Rules, Part One: Here in St. Clouds" based on the novel by John Irving. And while only half of the story is represented here, the show is a fully realized and wondrous piece of theater.
