The Drama Desk has announced that on Friday, March 22nd, they will host a sold-out Luncheon/Panel discussion with David Hyde Pierce and Kristine Nielsen ('Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike'), Olivier Award-winning Bertie Carvel ('Matilda'), Elizabeth Marvel ('Picnic') and Jane Houdyshell ('Dead Accounts') on 'The Art of Storytelling,' at Sardi's (234 West 44th Street).

DEAD ACCOUNTS, the new comedy by Pulitzer Prize finalist Theresa Rebeck, directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien stars two-time Tony Award winner Norbert Leo Butz and Katie Holmes. Helen Stenborg and Stephen McKinley Henderson have been named to receive the annual Richard Seff Award presented by the Actors' Equity Foundation. The award, a $1,000 check and crystal trophy for each, honors a veteran female and male character actor for the best performance in a supporting role in a Broadway or Off-Broadway production.

Jayne Houdyshell of Bye Bye Birdie, Well, and Wicked fame is slated to play the mother Lee Harvey Oswald, Marguerite, in The New Group's upcoming reading of Mama's Boy: The Woman Behind the Man who Killed Kennedy by Rob Urbinati. The reading will be held on December 6 as part of the theater's Dark Nights series at the Acorn Theatre at Theater Row, 7:00pm.

I suppose if Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill ever took a crack at writing theatre for young Weimar audiences, their effort might have had a strong likeness to Stephin Merritt and David Greenspan's creepily enchanting fantasy, Coraline, receiving a production from MCC that's far too interesting for viewers to be overly concerned with the occasional bumps.
