25 years to the day the film was released, HEATHERS: THE MUSICAL, the new stage adaptation of Daniel Waters' iconic 1989 dark comedy, made its New York premiere at New World Stages. Written by Olivier Award winner and Tony Award nominee Laurence O'Keefe and Emmy Award winner Kevin Murphy, HEATHERS: THE MUSICAL is directed by famed stage and screen director Andy Fickman, with choreography by Emmy Award winner Marguerite Derricks. The producers of HEATHERS: THE MUSICAL, the new stage adaptation of Daniel Waters' iconic 1989 dark comedy film, have announced that The Hasty Pudding Institute of 1770 has chosen HEATHERS: THE MUSICAL as their first foray into producing a New York stage production. Their newest initiative, Hasty Pudding Presents, is a production arm whose mission is to develop the Hasty Pudding franchise by backing performing arts endeavors consistent with its unique 200 year old brand.

At a press conference earlier today, the cast of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder announced that the production just reached the landmark 1,000th death of its leading man. Jefferson Mays, playing eight members of the D'Ysquith clan, is knocked off eight times in each performance, or sixty-four times each week. Mr. Mays has reached 1,000 stage deaths faster than any lead actor in Broadway history. At the press conference, Mr. Mays' co-star, Bryce Pinkham, presented Mr. Mays with an honorary 'death certificate' on behalf of the entire cast.

Ghostlight Records has announced the release of the original Broadway cast recording of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, the new musical currently running at the Walter Kerr Theatre. The album - produced by Joel Moss and Kurt Deutsch, with Joey Parnes serving as Executive Producer - will be released by digital outlets on February 25 with the disc available in stores and online April 1. The physical CD features a 40-page booklet with complete lyrics, color photos, a synopsis by librettist Robert L. Freedman and an essay by renowned theater writer and critic David Cote. A new Sh-K-Boom listing has revealed that the label will release a cast album for the hit Broadway musical, starring Jefferson Mays and Bryce Pinkham. As of now, no official release date has been announced.

Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI), the leading global music rights organization that represents more than 600,000 songwriters, composers and music publishers in all genres of music and more than 7.5 million works, is partnering with New York real estate company Silverstein Properties, Inc. to host the 3rd annual concert series of free summer music performances in the park in front of Silverstein Properties' 7 World Trade Center (located at 250 Greenwich St.) in downtown Manhattan. The music festival, known as '7@7' is taking place on seven Fridays from July 12th through August 23rd, at 12:00 p.m. with an eclectic lineup of talented performers taking to the BMI stage.
