Yesterday, June 27, the 37th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards were held at the Las Vegas Hilton in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Emmys are an award show celebrating exceptional American television programming. The award show was founded in 1949 by the Academy of Television Arts And Sciences and the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Regis Philbin was the host of the evening. Soap Fan Mystery Theatre kicks off with a new series of staged readings featuring Hollywood favorites, the most popular stars of daytime television, and rarely performed Agatha Christie mysteries at The Writers Guild Theater in Beverly Hills, located at 135 S. Doheny Drive (at Wilshire Boulevard).

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) today announced the nominees for the 36th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards. Nine major categories were announced this morning on 'The Today Show,' including the host of the telecast, Vanessa Williams, recording and television star, currently seen on the hit show, 'Ugly Betty.' The show will be telecast on the CW Television Network on Sunday,August 30th, 2009 from the historic Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, CA.

On Monday, March 9th, 2009 stars from ABC?s ?All My Children,? ?One Life to Live,? and ?General Hospital? performed at the 5th Annual ABC Daytime and SOAPnet Salutes Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS benefit at Town Hall in New York City. The annual event raised an all time record of $330,000 bringing the cumulative total to nearly $1.5 million dollars since the shows inception in 2005. This announcement was made today by Brian Frons, president, Daytime, Disney-ABC Television Group and Tom Viola, executive director, Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS.

The curtain rose for the fifth consecutive year as the spotlight shined center stage on stars from ABC's 'All My Children,' 'One Life to Live' and 'General Hospital' as they sang and danced on Broadway for one night only in support of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The show, hosted by Cameron Mathison, was held on Monday, March 9 at Town Hall (123 West 43rd Street).

David Alvarez, Trent Kowalik and Kiril Kulish, the three young stars playing the title role in the new Broadway hit, Billy Elliot the Musical will make a special guest star appearance at the 5th Annual 'ABC and SOAPnet Salute Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS,' performing the song 'Electricity.'
