RADIUM GIRLS to Glow at MET

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) is proud to present Radium Girls. In 1926, radium was a miracle cure, Madame Curie was an international celebrity, and luminous watches were the latest rage-until the girls who painted them began to fall ill with a mysterious disease. Inspired by a true story, Radium Girls traces the efforts of Grace Fryer, a dial painter, as she fights for her day in court. But as the case goes on, Grace finds herself battling not just with the U.S. Radium Corporation, but also with her own family and friends, who fear that her campaign for justice will backfire.

BWW Review: LONDON TAP DANCE INTENSIVE GALA PERFORMANCE, The London Cabaret Club

The London Tap Dance Intensive is the UK's top tap festival, and took place from Friday to Sunday last week. Over the course of three days a variety of workshops were offered at three different studios; led by talented teachers from across the tap spectrum, they covered everything from rhythm choreography, partner work, call & response, and the crossover between tap and Irish dancing. The festival culminated in a gala performance last night, hosted by Adam Garcia and Kane D. Ricca - the ultimate showcase for the genre, with some mind-blowing routines performed by a selection of top dancers.

Producers, Kane D. Ricca and Sarah Ivory have announced a Gala Performance to celebrate the final day of the London Tap Dance Intensive (LTDI), taking place at London Cabaret Club on Sunday 29 July. The event, hosted by star of stage and screen, Adam Garcia, will have performances from cast members of 42nd Street, STOMP, Hamilton, Tap Dogs and Motown, alongside the tap festival's faculty of world-class professional tap dancers. Further special guest appearances to be announced.

Written by Arthur Miller (The Crucible), A View from the Bridge focuses on the poverty of an American working class family comes face to face with the sheer destitution of their immigrant cousins, desperate to make a new life when an admirable longshoreman takes in two if his wife's Italian cousins who have been smuggled into the country. One falls in love with his niece and a 1950s plot becomes more topical than ever!

Directed by Ensemble Company member Matt Lee who shares one reason for his love of directing for kids, "Theatre is a unique opportunity to directly engage our youth in the art of storytelling.  I am thrilled to be bringing one of my favorite children's books to life onstage for families to enjoy." The play will run at MET for four weeks beginning September 24.

Maryland Ensemble Theatre's (MET) and MET ensemble members Sarah Shulman and Thom Huenger bring to life their spin on Greek Tragedy with a rocking performance of Oedipus Rox, sponsored by Kohl Building Products. The story of a man destined to fail will be on the Main Stage for four weeks opening April 8 and running to May 1 (Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m.) There will be an 8pm "pay what you can" preview  performance on April 7.
