Stockard Channing Returns to IT'S ONLY A PLAY After Suffering Knee Injury

BroadwayWorld has just learned from a show representative that Stockard Channing, who had been temporarily out of Broadway's IT'S ONLY A PLAY due to a knee injury, is back in the show beginning today, October 1. In her absence, the role of 'Virginia Noyes' was played by her understudy- Isabel Keating.

When you see the play Travesties, it will probably make you feel like your brain haywired a bit. Don't worry, though, that's supposed to happen. Tom Stoppard's Tony Award winning play, running through July 20th at Sag Harbor's beautiful Bay Street Theatre, is brilliantly constructed for many 'What?!' moments.

Jamie and her guests Dee Snider, Beth Leavel, Isabel Keating, Patrick Paige, Kevin Meaney, Clint Holmes, Michele Brourman, Matthew Stocke, Jeff Kready and Lauren Worsham sang, laughed, cavorted and dazzled the sold-out house. SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK, the Broadway spectacular that defied odds and expectations to conquer New York, played its final performance at the Foxwoods Theatre yesterday, Jan. 4, 2014, after being seen by approximately two million fans, and 1,268 performances. Since it began previews on November 28, 2010, and even before they bagan, the show's high and lows were in the news, making it one of the most talked about shows in theater history. Woof! BROADWAY BARKS! Takes Place Today, Starting at 3:30pm in Shubert Alley

Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters will host the 15th annual BROADWAY BARKS!, a star-studded dog and cat adoption event benefiting New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies. Produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, sponsored by the ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and additional sponsorship by the New York Times, BARKS will take place on Saturday, July 13 in Shubert Alley, the heart of the Broadway Theater District (located between 44th and 45thStreets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenues). The festivities begin at 3:30 p.m.; celebrity presentations of pets from animal shelters citywide will take place between 5-6:30 p.m. This year, BARKS will open the show with a performance from the Jersey Boysfollowed by the Broadway debut of many adoptable animals presented by many stars from this season's 'hottest' shows. In addition, Peters will be in Shubert Alley with famed illustrator/ author, Hilary Knight, the designer of this year's BARKS poster and Playbill cover. The signing is from 12 noon - 2:00p.m. All proceeds benefit Broadway Barks!
