LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS Opens at Murfreesboro's CFTA This Friday

Murfreesboro's Center for the Arts presents Little Shop of Horrors on its mainstage, April 28 through May 21. Renee Robinson directs a cast that includes Matthew Hayes Hunter as Seymour Krelbourn, Lindsay Pfeiffer as Audrey and Howard Snyder as Mr. Mushnik, owner of the eponymous "little shop."

A capacity crowd filled The Keeton to witness the no-holds-barred evening, hosted by Julia Marie Nettles, Jenna Pryor, Austin Jeffrey Smith and Taylor Tracey. Arron Holman worked the crowd during the evening to provide insight for the coming theatrical season in Nashville.

EVITA, GOOD MONSTERS Claim Top Honors at Midwinter's First Night

Studio Tenn and Tennessee Performing Arts Center's joint venture to produce Andrew Lloyd Webber's Evita in Nashville resulted in the production claiming the top prize as "Outstanding Musical of The Year" at Sunday's Midwinter's First Night event at The Larry Keeton Theatre. Nashville Repertory Theatre's production of Nate Eppler's original play Good Monsters took the title of "Outstanding Play of The Year" in the annual ceremony that dates back to its origins in 1989.

BWW Review: Towne Centre's BLACK TIE BROADWAY

Luckily, for audiences of Towne Centre Theatre's 2016 season-opening Black Tie Broadway, an original revue conceived by director/arranger John Ray, they are offered two hours of entertainment given a luxe treatment by a 13-member cast who are having a swell time singing the best of musical theater. Consistent and confident, Ray's cast bring a plethora of showtunes to the stage of the Brentwood theater - some you'll remember from the very first note, others you may be hearing for the first time.
