The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announces additional programming and talent for The District of Comedy Festival, a three-day festival which brings together acclaimed stars and rising acts for an all-laughs takeover of the nation's cultural center. The festival, with Presenting Sponsor Capital One, is a part of the Center's Comedy at the Kennedy Center initiative, a signature program focused on elevating comedy as an art form and uniting the local community together through laughter.

The National Music Council has announced that jazz legends Chick Corea and The Manhattan Transfer will be honored at the organization's 35 th annual American Eagle Awards on Thursday, June 28 at the Summer NAMM Show in Nashville. The honors are presented each year in recognition oflong-term contributions to American musical culture and heritage, the importance of music education and inspiration for all children, and the need to protect creators' rights both locally and globally.

For the sixth consecutive year, 88.5 FM will host SXSW Radio Day Stage performances at the annual SXSW Music Festival with sets from Field Report, Mt. Joy, Courtney Marie Andrews, Frank Turner, Kyle Craft, and Gordi. Set for Thursday, March 15 at theAustin Convention Center in Ballroom D, the live performancesare open to all SXSW badge holders and will be broadcast live on the air at 88.5 FM and at 885fm.org. Field Report will kick off more than six hours of live music beginning at12 Noon (CT)/10:00 AM (PT), with Gordi wrapping the day with a 5:00 PM performance.

Nancy Manocherian's the cell (Artistic Director, Kira Simring) will present the Off Broadway Premiere of BASTARD JONES, a rock musical comedy based on Henry Fielding's bawdy 18th century novel, The History of Tom Jones. With book, lyrics, & direction by Marc Acito (Broadway's Allegiance) and music & lyrics by Amy Engelhardt (Grammy nominees The Bobs), performances begin June 14 at the cell. Opening is slated for Thursday, June 22.

Dallas VideoFest announced today that it will honor both Kids in the Hall co-founders Dave Foley and Kevin McDonald with the coveted Ernie Kovacs Award on the evening of Saturday, Oct. 14.

The National Music Council presented its prestigious American Eagle Award to industry icons Crystal Gayle, Harry Shearer, and Patti Smith on July 13 at The Summer NAMM Show in Nashville, TN. National Music Council Director, David Sanders, hosted the awards ceremony along with presenters Paul Shaffer, Richard Leigh and John Ingrassia.
