On May 11, Off-Broadway theater company The Civilians will host A Shining Light, a live streamed benefit concert supporting the company and its artist community. In order to make A Shining Light as accessible as possible, there is no minimum ticket price.

Barrington Stage Company will produce a reduced and reprogrammed 2020 season starting in August, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.   

During this time when productions all over the world have been put on pause, we are coming together to celebrate plays that have left their mark on theater history. BroadwayWorld's Richard Ridge continues his journey with the latest  Broadway Rewind, which  takes the audience to Town Hall for the 4th annual ABC Daytime Salutes BC/EFA, but we start things off by meeting the company and bringing you a sneak peek at the Broadway musical Cry Baby, which is based on the hit John Waters film. It starred James Snyder, Elizabeth Stanley and Harriet Harris. Waters told me how he felt about being asked to turn one of his other hit films into a Broadway musical. 'I was thrilled because I had just had such a wonderful experience with Hairspray and to be honest, Cry Baby was the only real musical movie I ever made. Hairspray was a dance movie. The music in this is such a breath of new talent on Broadway.'

See 'Conscience,' a gripping world premiere play by Joe DiPietro. It is being performed through March 29th at GSP housed in NBPAC. With the exceptional direction of the Playhouse's Artistic Director, David Saint and featuring an outstanding cast of four thespians, 'Conscience' presents a slice of history, one that will resonate with a modern audience.

Two-time Tony winner Joe DiPietro's newest play CONSCIENCE is set to begin performances tonight (Tuesday) at George Street Playhouse's new home at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center. The official Opening Night is this Friday evening, March 6th.
