Powell III, director, and Franklin Kelly, deputy director and chief curator, National Gallery of Art, announced today that 6,430 works of art have been selected initially from more than 17,000 Corcoran works in the Gallery's custody to join the nation's collection of European and American art. Dodge Poetry Festival, has announced that a program focusing on war veterans and their families will be one of the special events taking place during the 15th biennial Dodge Poetry Festival, presented in partnership with the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) and the City of Newark, from October 23-26, 2014. The Festival will take place for the third time at NJPAC and other nearby venues in Newark, New Jersey's Downtown Arts District.

An exhibition from the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES) arrives at Phoenix Art Museum and will feature rare paintings by William H. Johnson, from the collection of the James E. Lewis Museum at Morgan State University. An essential figure in modern American art, William H. Johnson (1901-1970) was a virtuoso skilled in various media and techniques, and produced thousands of works over a career that spanned decades, continents, and genres.

The Four Nations Ensemble marks the 300th Birthday of CPE Bach tonight March 8th at 7 pm with performance of masterpieces by one of the 18th century's most adventuresome, demanding, respected yet presently under appreciated composers.
