On day one of Art Basel week, Miami's arts leaders gathered at the Mayfair Hotel for the opening reception of “Miami Says Art-2” to celebrate the cultural trailblazers who helped transform this city into a global art destination.

Stuart Weitzman Holdings LLC has named François Kress as global president.Stuart Weitzman Holdings, LLC announced that Francois Kress has joined as Global President. In this newly created position, Kress will oversee all aspects of the global retail and wholesale business plus take on the role of strategic leader for new initiatives and brand extensions. He will report directly to Wayne Kulkin, CEO, and will be based out of international headquarters in New York City.

Last year's Art Basel Week kicked off with a much talked-about tribute to Miami's arts pioneers - alongside the city's new cultural visionaries - with the retrospective of visionary artist Martin Kreloff's 1976 “Miami Says Art” (which 36 years ago brought together the city's then up-and-coming arts luminaries to look into his camera and exclaim “ART”).

Last year's Art Basel Week kicked off with a much talked-about tribute to Miami's arts pioneers - alongside the city's new cultural visionaries - with the retrospective of visionary artist Martin Kreloff's 1976 “Miami Says Art” (which 36 years ago brought together the city's then up-and-coming arts luminaries to look into his camera and exclaim “ART”).

The Jones Group Inc. ('Jones,' the 'Company') has appointed Joseph Stafiniak to the newly created position of Senior Vice President of Merchandising of Nine West, effective immediately. The Jones Group Inc. announced the promotion of Aida Tejero-DeColli to the newly created position of Chief People Officer, effective immediately. In this elevated role, Aida will continue to lead all efforts supporting Human Resources activities at Jones including, talent acquisition and management, training and development, and associate compensation, benefit and recognition programs.

The Jones Group Inc. announced that Cynthia DiPietrantonio has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately. In this expanded role, Ms. DiPietrantonio will oversee production in The Jones Group's overseas facilities, including its production offices in China and Hong Kong, in addition to her current responsibilities overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Company. Ms. DiPietrantonio, the senior-most operations executive, has been with The Jones Group in several capacities over the past 30 years, most recently as Chief Operations Officer. She will continue to report to Wesley R. Card, Chief Executive Officer of The Jones Group.

Brian Atwood announced the opening of its first flagship store at 655 Madison Avenue, at East 60th Street, in New York City . The store spans 1500 square feet of retail space and houses the largest selection of Brian Atwood product in the world.

Keith Haring: 1978-1982, the first large-scale exhibition to explore Haring's early career, will be presented at the Brooklyn Museum from March 16 through July 8, 2012.

Apart Projects presents Michael Lindsay-Hogg's inaugural solo exhibition, 'Time Alters All: A Retrospective of an Emerging Artist' curated by Price Latimer Agah. The artist, along with Town & Country Magazine, will celebrate the opening of the exhibit with a reception hosted by Shane Guffogg, Julian Sands, Jason Schwartzman, Nona Summers, Tara Summers, and Gloria Vanderbilt. Located at 8618 Melrose Avenue, West Hollywood, Calif., the exhibition will be open to the public today, June 13th through June 22nd, Weds-Fri 11am to 4pm and Sat 12-5pm and by appointment.

Patrons were treated to a classic trip down memory lane this week as four leading ladies of the legendary Persian Room New York came together for a book signing. Lainie Zazan, Michele Lee, Connie Stevens and Barbara Van Orden gathered at Barnes and Noble in California's The Grove to celebrate the release of Patty Farmer's new book "The Persian Room Presents." Anecdotes involving audience celebrity sightings included Barbara Streisand (by Stevens), Milton Berle (by Van Orden), Jack Jones and his thighs (by Lee) and a mob king who struck her while performing (by Kazan).
