The York Theatre Company, dedicated to the development of new musicals and preserving musical gems from the past, celebrates major milestones with the announcement of its upcoming 2014-2015 season. The 45th Anniversary season will see the Off-Broadway premieres of two Main Stage productions: Texas in Paris starring Tony Award-winner Lillias White, and the highly anticipated Harold and Maude, an intimate musical. The acclaimed Musicals in Mufti series will present its 100th production, expanding to a two-week performance schedule for the musicals Big, A Time for Singing and Saturday Night; My Favorite Year will then play a one-week schedule. The Board of Directors of the Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe (WBTT) has announced the appointment of Richard M. Parison, Jr. as the new Executive Director of WBTT, beginning September 8, 2014.

The Old Globe today announced the full cast and creative team for the World Premiere of Bright Star, a new American musical featuring music by Edie Brickell and Steve Martin, lyrics by Brickell, and book by Martin, based on an original story by Martin and Brickell. Directed by Walter Bobbie, Bright Star will run September 13 - November 2, 2014 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run September 13 - September 27. Opening night is Sunday, September 28 at 7:00 p.m. Single tickets go on sale on Friday, August 8 at noon.

The Public Theater's free Shakespeare in the Park production of Much Ado About Nothing officially opens tonight, Monday, June 16. The production will run through Sunday, July 6.

Renee Beaumont and Lizanne Rosenstein will serve as Gala Co-Chairs for this memorable evening in Central Park.
