Theater Breaking Through Barriers, the critically acclaimed Off-Broadway company known for its productions that integrate able-bodied actors with artists with disabilities, presents the world premiere of Kate Moira Ryan's BASS FOR PICASSO -- a new play about five New Yorkers, including a physically disabled food writer for The New York Times, whose secrets are exposed during a memorable dinner party -- with previews to begin April 17 prior to its official press opening May 2 at Theatre Row's Kirk Theatre (410 West 42nd Street). 42nd Street Moon's final production of the season, Very Warm for May, is the company's first show in the Jerome Kern Celebration and spotlights Kern's final Broadway score. The show previews on May 5, 6 and 7, opens on Saturday May 8 and runs through May 24 at the Eureka Theatre.

A Nervous Smile is the final, most powerful play by John Belluso, a wonderful playwright with a disability who passed away tragically more than two years ago, on the cusp of a promising career. In the play, the wealthy parents of a girl severely disabled with cerebral palsy are strained to the breaking point by the burden of caring for their daughter.

Theater Breaking Through Barriers will present the New York Premiere of John Belluso's, A Nervous Smile, on Friday, April 17, 2009 at 8PM at the Kirk Theatre, Theatre Row, 410 West 42nd St. The official opening will be on Sunday, April 26, 2009 at 8PM. Ike Schambelan directs.
