They say the neon lights are bright on Broadway -they say there's always magic in the air… And soon, there will surely be some of that Broadway magic gracing the Flat Rock Playhouse Mainstage, "mountain-style", with the return of the State Theatre's 2007 hit, Smokey Joe's Cafe! Performing the Music of the great Jerry Leiber & Mike Stoller, the band will be jumpin' and the joint will begin to swing until everyone in the historic barn theatre is singin' and dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock! As the first large-scale musical production of the 2017 Mainstage Series, Smokey Joe's Cafe will run on the Mainstage in the Village of Flat Rock from April 21st through May 13th, featuring a cast of nine spectacular performers and a rockin' band of six musicians who will bring down the house with this musical masterpiece.

The Music of Billy Joel and Elton John will run from June 9th through June 19th at The Flat Rock Playhouse Downtown on Main Street in Hendersonville.

Elitch Gardens, now in its 21st year downtown since relocating from northwest Denver, remains one of Colorado's the most popular entertainment destinations. It now features a vast array of modern roller-coasters, and because many of 'The 12' cast members from the DCPA Theatre Company are thrill-ride aficionados, the staff at Elitch's invited cast members Tuesday to ride the famous Carousel, which dates back to 1927 - and two coaster rides: The Brain Drain and the Boomerang. On Saturday, May 19, 2012 Broadway Sings for Pride (www.BwayPride.org) in conjunction with the TADA! Youth Theater joined over twenty-five Broadway, Off Broadway, and National Tour performers to remind everyone 'it gets better.' The song, which included TADA!'s Resident Youth Ensemble, was done to promote equality and stop bullying. 'It Gets Better' was written in 2010 by composers, Jay Kuo & Blair Shepard after a string of LGBT suicides across the country. This song will be featured in Broadway Sings for Pride's Second Annual Gay Pride Concert on Monday, June 25, 2012 in Manhattan. For tickets and information, click here.
