Ring in Spring with a musical road trip from Chicago to California through 34 songs from the 50s and 60s. From “King of the Road” to “The Little Old Lady from Pasadena” and, of course, “Route 66', it’s a great time to get your kicks.

One of the most impressive aspects of this performance of Cabaret is the choreography, designed by Chad-Alan Carr with assistant choreographer Debbie Williams. This historically and culturally important and emotionally hard-hitting musical runs through February 11th at Gettysburg Community Theatre.

Gettysburg Community Theatre is now celebrating its 16th Season as the only year-round community theatre in Adams County. Opening this Friday, February 2nd and performing at 7pm Fridays and Saturdays and also at 2pm Saturdays and Sundays, will be the classic musical CABARET

Every single member of the ensemble performs with full commitment and intensity. This production of Jekyll & Hyde The Musical is, in a word, entrancing. If it were not sold out, this reviewer would see it over and over again.

The music, lighting, and simple set are beautifully designed to put the focus on the characters, their relationships, their philosophies, and their emotions. This show forces us to ask ourselves difficult questions as we experience the struggles, fears, and heartaches of the characters portrayed by the stellar cast at Gettysburg Community Theatre.

GCT is producing the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning Angels In America by Tony Kushner, which is a two-part epic play. Part One: Millennium Approaches will perform May 5 & 6 at 7pm and May 7 at 2pm, with Part Two: Perestroika performing May 12 & 13 at 7pm and May 14 at 2pm.

Honky Tonk Angels, by Ted Swindley, runs from April 26 through May 21, 2023, at Meadow Brook Theatre on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester Hills. See photos of the cast!

While working as an assistant in a floral shop, shy Seymour stumbles across a new breed of plant. He names it “Audrey II,” after the coworker he has a crush on. But Audrey II isn’t as “proper” as Audrey. In a deep, R&B voice, it promises unending fame and fortune to Seymour as long as he supplies it with BLOOD! But just what does Audrey II have in mind for Seymour... and the world?

Strap on your boogie shoes, get out your Afro pick, and hustle down to Hanover Little Theatre. Their current production of Polyester is more fun than a double date with Pinky Tuscadero and Florence Jean Castlebury. This was my first visit to HLT, and they did not disappoint! Perks like friendly parking attendants, modest ticket prices, and excellent, yet intimate sight lines, makes this a great venue.

In 2018, Meadow Brook audiences met Nana and her entourage in Nana’s Naught Knickers. Now she’s back, this time for a run at Las Vegas. Nana and her sidekick, Vera, have taken a gamble and moved to Vegas, where they’re working as seamstresses for a show. What could possibly go wrong?

Gettysburg Community Theatre announced that they will be joining thousands of theatrical organizations around the globe by producing their own local production of Music Theatre International's All Together Now!: A Global Event Celebrating Local Theatre. Theatrical licensor Music Theatre International (MTI) created this revue for theatres across the globe to use as a local fundraising event performed over the same weekend of November 12, 2021. 

Meadow Brook Theatre turned the lights back on with Fancy, a Country Jukebox Musical. Fancy is a world premiere running until October 3rd and is about dreams and what they cost. After 18 months it was a wonderful to be back, safely, in that gorgeous theatre!

Inspired by Reba McEntire’s hit recording, FANCY is the story of a young girl turned out of her mother’s house with nothing but her guitar and the clothes on her back. Her dreams come true as she rises to country music superstardom, but at what cost? 

The show is filled with a wonderful mix of poignancy and humor, and the actors in Gettysburg Community Theatre’s production of Laundry and Bourbon handle it masterfully under the direction of Buff Wills. Audiences have the opportunity to experience Laundry and Bourbon online and in person at Gettysburg Community Theatre now through May 16th only.

Based on Studs Terkel's best-selling book of interviews with American workers, the musical Working paints a vivid portrait of the men and women that the world so often takes for granted: the schoolteacher, the phone operator, the waitress, the mill-worker, the mason and the housewife, just to name a few. Nominated for six Tony Awards, this classic has been updated for a modern age.
