On Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 7:30pm the Saint Thomas Choir of Men and Boys and Orchestra of St. Luke's present Haydn's The Creation oratorio in the opening concert of the 2016/17 season. Displaying Haydn's unfussy optimism, The Creation features some of the most memorable and life-enhancing music ever written. Soloists include soprano Ellie Dehn who sings the parts of Gabriel and Eve. Versatile tenor Thomas Cooley sings Uriel and bass Craig Phillips sings the parts of Raphael and Adam.

The Henegar Center Announces Casting for HAND TO GOD

The Henegar Center (Hank Rion, Artistic Director) today announced casting for Hand to God, an irreverent puppet comedy. Under the direction of Hank Rion, and written by Robert Askins, Hand to God will play September 9 - 25, 2016 on the Upstairs at The Henegar stage. Single tickets start at $20 for adults, $16 for students/seniors, and are on sale starting August 6 through the Box Office at 321.723.8698 and online at www.henegar.org. Winning Writers is pleased to announce the results from its thirteenth annual Tom Howard/Margaret Reid Poetry Contest. Jude Nutter of St. Paul, Minnesota won the Tom Howard Prize of $1,500 for a poem in any style or genre, for 'The Shipping Forecast'. Marilyn L. Taylor of Madison, Wisconsin won the Margaret Reid Prize of $1,500 for a poem that rhymes or has a traditional style, for 'The Seven Very Liberal Arts: A Crown of Sonnets'. 2,435 entries were received from around the world.
