Netflix Expands Japanese Live Action Programming Growing Local Content Library

Netflix showcased a slate of upcoming live action series and films at Netflix Originals Festival held in Tokyo, Japan on 25 June. Since launch in September 2015, Netflix has been growing its library of locally produced stories. Today, an ensemble of cast and creators from Japanese original series and film joined over 280 media attendees in the event which featured 30 upcoming original titles from both Japan and beyond.
CBS to Air LOVE ISLAND This Summer

American viewers will get their own LOVE ISLAND this summer. The U.S. version of the international reality sensation filled with romance and relationships will premiere Tuesday, July 9 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. New episodes will air every weeknight (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) through Wednesday, August 7. The series is produced by ITV Entertainment, an ITV America company.

George Street Playhouse is set to open its 2019-20 season in its new home, the state-of-the-art New Brunswick Performing Center this October, marking a new era in the theater's esteemed history of bringing world-class productions to New Jersey audiences. The Television Academy tonight presented the 2018 Creative Arts Emmy Awards Ceremonies on Saturday and Sunday night honoring outstanding artistic and technical achievement in television at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The Saturday ceremony, which kicked-off the 70th Emmys, awarded many talented artists and craftspeople in the categories of animation, scripted programming including comedy, drama and limited series. The Sunday ceremony honored performers, artists and craftspeople for excellence in variety, nonfiction or reality programming, reality competition programming, music, choreography, as well as documentary or nonfiction specials, informational series or specials.

CBS Secures U.S. Rights to International Hit LOVE ISLAND

CBS has secured the U.S. format rights for the smash U.K. and international reality series 'Love Island' from ITV Studios and Motion Content Group, with the new series to be produced by ITV Entertainment, it was announced today by Sharon Vuong, Senior Vice President, Alternative Programming for the Network. The season four finale aired last week to a record overnight audience, ranking as the most-watched program ever on the U.K.'s ITV2 network, with almost half of all adult viewers under 34 tuning in throughout the series.
