FX Picks Up New Limited Series DEVS

The Playwrights Foundation, a launchpad for exceptional plays and playwrights announces the lineup for the 2018 Bay Area Playwrights Festival (BAPF) running July 20-29, 2018. The six Playwrights were selected from more than 700 submissions nationally, 85% from outside the bay area, from more than 2 dozen states and Canada - coast to coast a very North American cohort.

Robin Wright returns as the newly appointed Commander-in-Chief Claire Underwood in the new promo for House of Cards' final season.

The series follows ambitious FBI agent Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) as he struggles to comprehend incarcerated killers, so that he might use this knowledge to catch others. He's teamed with experienced agent Bill Tench (Holt McCallany) in the Behavioral Science Unit and will work with his sometimes reluctant partner to find new methods of investigation. Together they will meet some of America's gravest killers, including Edmund Kemper (played by a mesmerizing Cameron Britton) – and face the cynicism and scorn of the tradition-bound hierarchy of the 1970s' Federal Bureau of Investigation. Ford will risk empathizing with 'evil' in order to save lives. But, as Tench says, when arguing the case for their work: “How do we get ahead of crazy if we don't know how crazy thinks?”

Playwrights Foundation announces the plays and playwrights of the 2018 Bay Area Playwrights Festival (BAPF) running July 20-29, 2018 at Potrero Stage, 1895 18th St in San Francisco. The Artistic Teams for #BAPF2018 features Directors Erik Pearson, Christine Young, Margo Hall, Daniel Banks, Lauren English, and Ken Savage. Dramaturgs joining the teams include Alex Mallory, Maddie Gaw, Lisa Evans, Vidhu Singh, Roweena Mackay, and the Legendary Nakissa Etemad.

The series was created by Beau Willimon? and is produced by Donen/Fincher/Roth, with MRC as the studio, for Netflix.  

The sixth and final season of House of Cards has officially wrapped. Robin Wright broke the news in an Instagram post thanking the cast and crew on Friday, accompanied by a fierce new pic for Season 6.

Andrew Garfield has won the 2018 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play for ANGELS IN AMERICA.

Carrie Coon, Natalie Paul and Hannah Gross have been announced as series regulars for second installment of USA Network's THE SINNER.  Jessica Biel will Executive Produce Alongside Derek Simonds, Charlie Gogolak, Michelle Purple, Brad Winters and John Coles. Series is set to Premiere August 2018.

Academy Award® winners Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have composed the original theme music for the highly anticipated new SHOWTIME documentary series THE FOURTH ESTATE, directed and produced by Emmy®-winning and Oscar-nominated filmmaker Liz Garbus (What Happened, Miss Simone?). This marks the second time the duo have created music for SHOWTIME programming, having appeared in the 18-part limited event series TWIN PEAKS performing the original song "She's Gone Away,' which is featured on their 2016 album Not the Actual Events.

ROBOT, TWIN PEAKS, AMERICAN HORROR STORY, BLOODLINE, and is currently working on Sam Esmail's new show HOMECOMING. He took the time to speak with me about how he got into editing, the editing process of USA Network's MR. ROBOT, and the ins-and-outs of being a film editor.
