54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, has announced plans to augment its diverse programming with a varied new series of in-house productions including a new interview series, a new musicals-in-concert series (following-up on the success of the club's wildly successful High Fidelity in Concertevent), and a program for new composers. According to the Washington Post, Signature Theatre's 2013-14 season will include three world premiere musicals, one world-premiere play, a developmental run of a world-premiere musical, and revivals of Miss Saigon, Gypsy and The Threepenny Opera. Signature's Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer will be directing all four of the new musicals, as well as Miss Saigon.

The Baltimore Playwrights Festival continues its Thirty-Second Season with a play-reading marathon today, February 23, 2013, at The Vagabond Players, 806 S. Broadway, Baltimore, MD 21231 (www.vagabondplayers.com). Starting at 11:30 a.m., plays to be read are The Good News, by Matthew Buckley Smith, directed by Kwame Bey, followed at 2:00 p.m. by The Prognosis, by Patrick J. McGeever, directed by Steve Goldklang, and at 3:00 by Peep Show, by Ivan Taub, directed by Rodney Bonds. After each reading there will be a discussion of the script with the playwright, director and actors. The event is free, and the general public is encouraged to attend.
