Due to scheduling conflicts, Wayne Brady has withdrawn from the eagerly anticipated La Jolla Playhouse revival of The Wiz; Rashad Naylor has replaced him as Scarecrow

Variety reports the casting for the upcoming La Jolla production of The Wiz, directed by Des McAnuff. The show will feature Wayne Brady (Scarecrow), David Alan Grier (the Wizard), Nikki M. James, (Dorothy), Tituss Burgess (the Lion) and Michael Benjamin Washington (Tin Man).

She's appeared on Broadway in Forum, Les Miserables, Good Vibrations and Little Shop of Horrors, starring alongside a wide range of performers from Colm Wilkinson, to Nathan Lane, Whoopi Goldberg and Joey Fatone. In the Summer of 2005 though, Jessica-Snow Wilson is playing to smaller audiences, having just finished in the Fringe Festival, and next up - NERDS in NYMF.

The August 18th opening of the new musical The Mambo Kings has been called off by producers Daryl and Jordan Roth after a rocky out-of-town period

Grier replaces Billy Dee Williams who withdrew from the production due to an aggravated hip condition.
