BWW Reviews: SYLVIA at the Seattle Rep
by Jay Irwin
- Nov 17, 2011
I've always counted on the Rep to bring in the new and fresh stuff to the Seattle Theater community. And while I understand their nostalgic aspect of choosing to bring back a perennial favorite with their current production of "Sylvia" by A.R. Gurney, I have to question "why this one?" which has become such a staple of smaller theaters and High Schools around the country since the Rep's first production in 1994. BWW Reviews: HAMLET from Seattle Shakespeare Company
by BWW
News Desk
- Dec 5, 2010
Seattle Shakespeare Company launches their 20th anniversary season with the uber-Shakespeare classic, "Hamlet". I'll admit I was hesitant to go see it. "Yet another production of 'Hamlet'." But, this production with its "less is more" mentality is a near note perfect production and one to be remembered for years to come.

BWW REVIEW: ELECTRA from Seattle Shakespeare Company
by BWW News Desk
- Jan 31, 2010
Seattle Shakespeare Company is presenting the bloody Greek tragedy "Electra" by Sophocles and adapted by Frank McGuinness. And let me tell you the tragedy here is most certainly not the quality of the production.
