Merideth Kaye Clark Releases YOUNG STELLAR OBJECT, Live Show Dates Begin 7/26

Fresh off a two-year stint as the standby for Elphaba-one of musical theatre's most vocally challenging roles-in the hit musical Wicked (First National Tour), Merideth Kaye Clark is now releasing a solo album: Young Stellar Object.

Fresh off a two-year stint in the hit musical Wicked (Elphaba standby, First National Tour), Merideth Kaye Clark is releasing a solo album: Young Stellar Object. Performing the leading role over 150 times in 30+ cities, Merideth still spent many hours a week waiting backstage for her chance to be painted green. She put this spare time traveling the country with Wicked to use, writing and recording a folk-pop album that channels her unique experience of a life being lived on the road.

What does a standby do when she's just standing by? This one wrote an album. Merideth Kaye Clark recently finished a two-year run as the standby for Elphaba-one of musical theatre's most vocally challenging roles-in the hit musical Wicked (First National Tour). While she performed the role over 150 times in 30+ cities, she often spent hours a week waiting backstage for her chance to be painted green. With that time on hand, and inspiration from the road, she has written Young Stellar Object. With the help of producer and long-time collaborator Ricky Marson, Merideth has compiled 9 folk-pop songs that highlight her voice, as well as the talent of musicians from across the country and in the traveling orchestra of Wicked.

The crocuses, cherry blossoms, and azaleas will be in full bloom, as the nation's capital will be awash in beautiful colors. It's the perfect time to visit and see some great shows in our DC area theatres.
