THEATERSPEAK will present an installation of more than 70 award-winning and emerging playwrights writing new plays in the storefront window of the Drama Book Shop during store hours, August 13th - September 1st, In each two-hour time slot, a different playwright will write their play on a laptop, while the screen shot of their computer is visible to the street, opening their process up to the passerby on the street. Some days it seems the only choice you have is between losing your focus and losing your mind. It all turns into a Shoot the Freak game…and guess who the freak is?

The Threadbare Sex follows three iconic Greek women, Antigone, Cassandra, and Electra, from Ancient Greece, through an 1860s drawing room comedy, and into the present day. In each re-incarnation, the women wrangle with their own fates and what it means to be the threadbare sex.
