The one thing she's never done -- until now -- is carry off a one-woman show. She opens tonight, July 10th at the Open Eye Theater in the Catskills (www.theopeneyetheater.org), in ASCAP award-winner Chip Deffaa's one-woman show 'One Night with Fanny Brice.'

The 13th Street Repertory Theater will offer audience talkbacks after the following performances of Chip Deffaa's new musical play 'Irving Berlin's America': Sunday, June 22nd at 8 p.m.; Thursday, June 26th at 8 p.m.; Sunday, June 29th at 8 p.m.; Monday, June 30th at 8 p.m.; Sunday, July 6th at 8 p.m.; and Thursday, July 10th at 8 p.m.

Chip Deffaa's new musical play "Irving Berlin's America," which opened Sunday, June 15th at the 13th Street Repertory Theater, will have a post-performance celebration tonight (Thursday June 19th). "We're inviting the audience to stay after the show for some cake and soda, and a post-show discussion with the cast about Berlin. We have a lot to celebrate," noted writer/director Deffaa. "The show, which just opened, has just found a publisher. And we're celebrating the birthday of costar Giuseppe Bausilio, who is turning 17. If there's a more talented 17-year-old out there, I haven't met him! And if that were not enough, this is also the anniversary of the day Berlin copyrighted his first hit, more than 100 years ago!"

Off-Broadway's ONE NIGHT WITH FANNY BRICE to Take Summer Hiatus

"One Night with Fanny Brice," which opened Off-Broadway at St. Luke's Theater on 46th Street in 2011 and moved to the 13th Street Theater (50 W. 13th St., New York City) in 2013, will go on summer hiatus following the Monday, June 9th performance. The show will resume performances at the 13th Street Theater in September. This summer, the show will play at the Open Eye Theater (Amie Brockway, Artistic Director) in the Catskills. The show is published/licensed by Leicester Bay Theatricals. The Off-Broadway cast album, released by Original Cast Records, is available from Amazon, CDBaby, iTunes, etc.

If 'Adam's Rib' and 'Moneyball' mated and begat a play, it might be 'Skybox,' a comedy of class warfare and the battle of the sexes that is set in the luxury box of a major league baseball park. The play, written by Walt Stepp and directed by Lissa Moira, is the successor to their collaboration on 'Siren's Heart: Norma Jean and Marilyn in Purgatory,' a play by Stepp which started at Theater for the New City and is now running Off-Broadway at the Actors Temple Theatre. 'Skybox' has been extended at Theater for the New City through December 9, 2012. Get a first look at the show in the photos below!

Theater for the New City Extends SKYBOX Through December 9

A one-week extension has been added for 'Skybox,' a new comedy by Walt Stepp and directed by Lissa Moira. The play's premiere run was originally scheduled for November 8 to December 2, 2012. After Hurricane Sandy struck, the opening was postponed to November 15 to accommodate production delays. Now the closing has been extended through December 9 to make up for lost performances. So the new production dates are November 15 to December 9 and critics are invited to all performances.
