Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe to Present DRIVING MISS DAISY

Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe concludes its 2015-2016 season with the comedy-drama DRIVING MISS DAISY, which runs April 20 (with three additional special previews added on April 16, 17 and 19) through May 28. The play won a Pulitzer Prize in 1988; in 1989, it was adapted into a film that was awarded four Academy Awards, including Best Picture.

The Old Globe presents the West Coast premiere of an exciting new American play, Rich Girl, by acclaimed playwright Victoria Stewart, continuing the Globe's 80th Anniversary festivities as part of the Balboa Park Centennial Celebration. Rich Girl will be directed by James Vasquez (Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show), and will play now through June 21, 2015, in the Sheryl andHarvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Previews for this ferocious production will be held January 15 - 16, opening night will be on January 17 at 8pm, and the show will run through February 27. FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training Director/Associate Artistic Director of Asolo Rep Greg Leaming will be at the helm of this five-time 2012 Tony Award-nominated production. OTHER DESERT CITIES, a 2012 Pulitzer Prize Finalist, had its Off Broadway premiere in January 2011 and transferred to Broadway in November 2011.

The new play, Hit The Wall by Ike Holter, a theatrical exploration of the first night of the 1969 Stonewall Riots, directed by Eric Hoff, and with original music & music supervision by Dan Lipton, will end its run today, April 28, 2013 at the Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street) where it began performances on February 19, 2013.
