The Public Theater presents the New York premiere of Lynn Nottage's SWEAT, beginning previews Tuesday, October 18. Directed by Kate Whoriskey, SWEAT officially opens on Thursday, November 3 and was just extended an additional week through Sunday, December 4. The Public Theater announced today that two popular fall shows have extended due to strong demand, with a new block of tickets going on sale Thursday, October 13.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival will open William Shakespeare's Timon of Athens, directed by Amanda Dehnert, on July 31 at 1:30 p.m. in the Angus Bowmer Theatre. Preview performances are offered July 28 and 29. This will be only the fourth time that OSF has presented Timon of Athens in its 81-year history, the last time being in 1997. This also marks OSF's fourth completion of Shakespeare's canon since 1935.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival has unveiled its Spring Festival Noons schedule, with a wide range of events that includes "Death Becomes Him," a festive commemoration of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's passing on April 23, as well as a live demonstration of scenic painting techniques on March 26 and a two-day kickoff on May 14-15 for this year's Living Ideas series, centered around the world premiere of Lisa Loomer's Roe-.
