The Kite Runner is officially open on Broadway! Based on Khaled Hosseini's internationally best-selling novel and adapted by Matthew Spangler, the production comes to New York from two successful seasons in London's West End and will run through October 30 at The Hayes Theater (240 West 44th Street). David Mamet's American Buffalo opened on Broadway at Circle in the Square Theatre (235 W 50th Street), exactly two years after it was originally scheduled to open and BroadwayWorld was there to capture pictures of the guests on opening night!

Just last night, Roundabout Theatre Company New York premiere of Birthday Candles by Noah Haidle, starring Emmy Award winner Debra Messing, directed by Vivienne Benesch, celebrated opening night and BroadwayWorld was there to capture pictures.

Stars in the House for Ukraine, an 11+ Hour telethon of the weekly streaming show, raised $139,000 for the International Rescue Committee's humanitarian efforts for those affected by the war in Ukraine. That total is inclusive of a generous matching donation by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, which matched the first $50,000 worth of donations.

More celebrity guests have been added to Stars in the House For Ukraine – the 10-hour telethon to raise money and awareness for those affected by the ongoing war in Ukraine. Hosted by Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley, the show will air live on Saturday, March 26th from 12:00pm ET – 10:00pm ET.

Manheim will play Lieutenant Kate Dixon, joining the previously announced Hugh Dancy and Anthony Anderson. Dixon is new to the series, replacing Lieutenant Anita Van Buren, played by S. Epatha Merkerson in previous seasons.

Audible just announced a new original series perfect for family listening: Cinnamon Bear: A Holiday Adventure, performed by star-studded cast with original musical numbers. The original Cinnamon Bear radio series debuted in 1937 as a cliffhanger-style children’s radio show that featured daily episodes during the holiday season!

This year, with the support of the Jewish nonprofit Reboot, the Saturday Night Seder team is adding digital content leading up to and throughout the week of Passover. These new features include: a behind-the-scenes MAKING-OF short documentary; a new BEHIND THE SCENES interview and performance of “Next Year” and more.
