The one singular sensation that exhilarated Broadway for over fifteen years, A Chorus Line opens on June 3 at STAGES ST. LOUIS. A Chorus Line continues through July 3 at the Robert G. Reim Theatre in Kirkwood.

The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis (The Rep) presents The Fall of Heaven by Walter Mosley. Based on his novel The Tempest Tales, this production will close on the Browning Mainstage of the Loretto-Hilton Center for the Performing Arts, 130 Edgar Road (on the campus of Webster University), Webster Groves, January 30, 2011.

Author and playwright Walter Mosley has a real knack for writing hard-boiled fiction, as evidenced by his extensive, best-selling body of work, and his first foray writing for the theatre, THE FALL OF HEAVEN, is a stunning success. Mosley deftly reworks 'The Tempest Tales' into an incendiary piece of theatre that's both enthralling and engaging, drawing in the audience and never letting them go. The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis is currently presenting this exciting new play in a production that's smartly conceived and executed, with excellent performances all around.

Seven talented young senior students from Webster University were showcased on the stage of the Kranzberg Arts Center this past Tuesday (12/14/2010) by the Presenters Dolan. I'd heard that this show was usually presented at the university itself, but I think that the group benefited greatly from having the opportunity to strut their stuff within the intimate confines of the Kranzberg, because it allowed them the chance to actually 'work' in the type of environment they may encounter in the near future. I was privileged enough to have been invited to attend this event, and I have to say that it's an almost certain guarantee that the people I'm about to discuss may not be familiar to you now, but will probably be some day very soon.

The Stages St. Louis production of PROMISES,PROMISES will be produced and presented from the original script and score that premiered on Broadway at the Shubert Theatre in 1968. Since I first started taking my son along with me to see children's shows, it's become readily apparent to me that he especially enjoys seeing the ones put on by Stages St. Louis. That's because they're always entertaining and fun, and they don't wear out their welcome by running too long. Their current presentation of DISNEY'S THE ARISTOCATS is another fine example of the kind of engaging productions they present year in and year out. And, I'm happy to report that my son absolutely loved it (my wife and I did, too)!
