Disney Theatrical Productions announced today that following the conclusion of the NEWSIES North American tour on October 2, 2016, multiple regional productions of the show will commence in summer 2017, in response to overwhelming public demand.

Hennepin Theatre Trust announced today that the Bank of America Broadway on Hennepin Season engagement of Disney's NEWSIES set a box office record for the highest-grossing one-week theatrical engagement at the historic Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis. The award-winning musical grossed sales of $1,448,779.50 for the week ending Feb. 14, 2016 and attracted more than 20,000 patrons to the West Downtown MPLS Cultural District (WeDo) during its eight performances.

Disney's NEWSIES will play an exclusive two-week premiere engagement at Segerstrom Center for the Arts with performances May 17 - 29, 2016 in Segerstrom Hall. Individual tickets for NEWSIES start at $25 and may be purchased online at SCFTA.org, the Box Office at 600 Town Center Drive in Costa Mesa or by calling (714) 556-2787. The 2 p.m. performance on Saturday, May 28, 2016 will include audio description, open captioning and sign-language interpretation.

Casting has been announced for the St. Louis engagement of Disney's NEWSIES.   The Tony Award-winning production will begin performances at the Fabulous Fox Theatre on Tuesday, January 19 for a limited engagement through Sunday, January 31. 

Disney Theatrical Productions will hold an open  call audition for male dancers for the North American touring production of NEWSIES, the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical smash, in Detroit on Tuesday, December 15 at 12:30pm at Detroit Opera House/Margo V. Cohen Center for Dance (1526 Broadway Street, Detroit, MI 48226). This audition will be first come, first serve and is for technically-trained Equity and non-Equity male dancers between 16 - 22 years old of all ethnicities who can tap and sing well.
