A total of 35 established and emerging writers, composers and lyricists will converge on the Goodspeed campus this month to participate in the first-ever Johnny Mercer Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals. Johnny Mercer Foundation and Kaufman Center present 'New Music from The Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project' tonight, October 11 at Merkin Hall as part of the Kaufman Center Broadway Close Up Series. The evening, celebrating the first seven years of the Johnny Mercer Foundation's Songwriters Project at Northwestern University, will feature faculty members, Broadway composers and Tony nominees Craig Carnelia (Is There Life After High School?) and Andrew Lippa (The Addams Family), Grammy-winning singer and songwriter Lari White and cabaret performer Marilyn Maye with Mike Renzi.

For 12 years, Merkin Concert Hall's Broadway Close Up series has been taking audiences behind the scenes of classic musicals old and new with eye-opening interviews and inspiring performances. Metropolis Opera Project presents THE M.O.P BUCKET, a listening party of new music by a dozen of America's hippest young composers, Monday May 17th 2010. This first annual presentation will feature performances from Broadway's Christiane Noll (2010 Tony and Drama Desk Nominee for Ragtime, Jekyll and Hyde) , Wesley Taylor (2009 Theatre World Award Winner, Rock of Ages), Krysta Rodriguez (TV's Gossip Girl, In the Heights, The Addams Family), Zachary James (The Addams Family, South Pacific), Martin Sola (Coram Boy, The King and I, La Boheme, NYCO) Morgan James (Godspell, The Addams Family), Amy Justman (Company, White Christmas) M.O.P. Founding Director Megan Nelson, The MET's Jessica Kimple, and Lauren Worsham (Conegonde in NYCO's Candide).

Jihad! The Musical will play its final performance at the Jermyn Street Theatre on February 6, 2010.

Olivier Award winner Delroy Atkinson and West End favorite Gina Murray are set to star in Jihad! The Musical, to be presented by Seabright Productions at the Jermyn Street Theatre. Gordon Greenberg (Jacques Brel...) will direct the production, which will makes it's London premiere from January 8-February6, 2010. Jihad! previously played the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2007 to sell-out audiences and critical acclaim.
