Disney's landmark musical event, The Lion King, celebrates 15 years on Broadway Tuesday, November 13th at the Minskoff Theatre (200 West 45th Street, New York City). Virtually the entire creative team, who collectively won six Tony® Awards for their work on the show, will reunite for a one-night only celebratory performance Sunday, November 18th as a benefit for The Actors Fund. Casts and stars from the current Broadway line-up have started recording for the 2012 Broadway's Carols for a Cure, Volume 14.

CAROLS FOR A CURE is the annual two-disc holiday CD compilation of original songs and holiday classics which benefits BC/EFA. These CDs boast the best voices from the worlds of Broadway, Off-Broadway and national tours. A full track list for this year's 14th edition has not yet been announced, but the cast of Broadway's THE LION KING was already hard a work recording their track for the album. THE LION KING welcomes Syndee Winters as Nala, beginning performances tonight, June 1. Making her Broadway debut, Winters joins the New York company of THE LION KING directly from the North American tour. Winters will play her final Broadway performance Sunday, August 26, 2012. THE LION KING will welcome Dashaun Young back to Broadway as Simba, beginning performances Wednesday, May 16. Young has previously played the role of Simba on Broadway, North American tour, and most recently in the Las Vegas company.

Jacobs, who most recently starred in the title role of the world premiere of Aladdin at the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle, previously played the role of Simba on national tour. Broadway's landmark musical event THE LION KING is pleased to welcome JUDAH BELLAMY as 'Young Simba' and SHAYLIN BECTON as 'Young Nala' to the company. Bellamy and Becton made their Broadway debuts last night.

Ben Jeffrey, who is currently starring on Broadway as Pumba the Warthog in the Lion King, is visiting the KC area briefly and will be doing master acting classes and a public performace as a benefit for Calvary Bible College performing arts scholarships. Everyone who takes the master classes will perform in 'Sit Down, You're Rockin' the Boat' with Ben at the public performance on Monday evening, January 24. Other extremely talented Calvary staff will be handling the vocal and dance master class segments.
