Following Transport Group's 2011 production of Queen of the Mist, the 20th Century Project continues into its second decade (1910 - 1920) with an urgent new revival of John Van Druten's beloved classic, I Remember Mama. Redefining family, time, and memory, Transport Group's production features a cast of ten veteran actresses who play all twenty-three roles. This bold reinterpretation of Van Druten's simple and honest story reveals how even the smallest and seemingly insignificant experiences of family life can silently accumulate and take our breath away. Transport Group, the Drama Desk and OBIE award-winning theatre company, has announced that Almost, Maine, written by John Cariani and directed by Jack Cummings III, and I Remember Mama, written by John Van Druten and directed by Mr. Cummings, will comprise the company's 2013-14 season. Both productions will take place at the Gym at Judson, 243 Thompson Street, where Transport Group will now be in residency.

After 32 years, it seems as if every year, everyone and his agent sends a one-act play script to The Ensemble Studio Theatre for its annual marathon of one-act plays, the oldest, acclaimed one-act play festival in the country. This year is no exception with 886 one-act scripts totaling 21,264 pages which were read by 17 readers over 5 months. From that, Ensemble Studio Theatre artistic director William Carden selected 10 plays this spring to be presented on two separate programs for the Ensemble Studio Theatre's 2010 Marathon of One-Act Plays May 24 through June 26.

The Middlebury Community Players will present an expanded version of Noel Coward's 'Still Life' at Town Hall Theater from February 18 through the 21st. The piece was originally written to be included in Coward's cycle of short plays 'Tonight at 8:30.' However, in 1945 Coward joined forces with film director David Lean to create the full length, heart rending love story, 'Brief Encounter.' For MCP's production, director Joann Langrock has adapted scenes from the film to the original one-act, taking her cue from the recent British revival of a staged version of 'Brief Encounter' currently touring the United States.

ENSEMBLE STUDIO THEATRE is celebrating a milestone - this spring marks their 30th Marathon of One-Act Plays - and the occasion will be celebrated with a gala Benefit Dinner in honor of distinguished E.S.T. member Jerry Zaks and outstanding corporate leader Jerry Saviola. The Benefit Dinner will be held Tuesday, June 24th at the Players Club.
