If I Were You, which focuses on four young protagonists gives the youthful Theater Bug company of actors an opportunity to explore the depths of their own emotions amid the turmoil of their formative years and, in so doing, they give every audience member a chance to examine their own emotions and preconceived notions of the people around them.

Tony Award-nominated director Lynne Taylor-Corbett (Swing!) helms Part of the Plan, an original musical featuring the songs of the late, celebrated singer-songwriter Dan Fogelberg, currently in development at Nashville's Tennessee Performing Arts Center which this week will receive a 29-hour Equity staged reading with three invitation-only presentations September 22-24.

Lipscomb Academy grad Hatty King takes on the role of Ariel, under the direction of Brittany Blaire Andersen, who makes her Circle Players directorial debut with the production.

The Little Mermaid, described as "a hauntingly beautiful love story for the ages," closes out Circle Players' 2015-16 season with a June 3-19 run at Nashville's Z. Alexander Looby Theatre. Brittany Blaire Anderson directs and musical directs, with choreography by Bakari King and assistant musical direction by Kelsi Fulton. Hatty King stars as Ariel.

Bringing back the audience favorite from one of Street Theatre's early seasons, Street Theatre Company closes its tenth season with the Off-Broadway cult classic BAT BOY. In this rock 'n' roll musical, a supernatural half bat/half boy discovered in a cave in West Virginia attempts to integrate into a narrow-minded town. He tries to fit in, but happiness is shattered as the town hears the shocking story of Bat Boy's unholy origin.

Street Theatre Company has brought a little bit of Memphis to Music City with their production of Memphis: The Musical. The show opened Friday night at Street Theatre Company's new location, Bailey Middle School. This is the first regional production in Tennessee since the touring Broadway production ended.
