Ashanti J'Aria is an alumnus from Fordham University Lincoln Center and has been singing and dancing and acting ever since she was 4 years old
She has had the honor of being asked to lend her talents over seas, in voiceovers, and television shows that include 'The Good Wife', 'Family Matters', and American Idol. On and off stage experiences include productions of 'Saturday Night Fever', 'Little Shop of Horrors', 'Beehive', 'The Kink In My Hair' (Naacp award winning production) 'Guys & Dolls', 'Caroline Or Change', 'Hair', NYMF's 'The Groove Factory' and most recently NYMF's own Off-Broadway production of 'The Last Smoker In America.' Ashanti Is honored and humbled by this opportunity.

The raucous, irreverent, and unfiltered new Off-Broadway musical comedy The Last Smoker in America, with book and lyrics by Tony Award nominee Bill Russell (Side Show) and music by Drama Desk Nominee Peter Melnick (Adrift in Macao), with direction by Tony Award winning producer and director Andy Sandberg (Hair; Gore Vidal's The Best Man), choreography by Tony Award nominee AC Ciulla (Footloose) and music supervision, arrangements and orchestrations by Fred Lassen (The Gershwin's Porgy & Bess), just opened last night at The Westside Theatre (407 West 43rd Street). Opening Night is Thursday, August 2, 2012.

The new Broadway musical Baby It's You! tells the inspiring story of Florence Greenberg, the woman who changed the recording world forever when she discovered The Shirelles and created Scepter Records, becoming the music industry's first female powerhouse. Starring Tony Award winner Beth Leavel as Greenberg, conceived by Floyd Mutrux, directed by Floyd Mutruxand Sheldon Epps, and written by Tony nominated book writers Mutrux and Colin Escott, the team behind Broadway's Million Dollar Quartet, Baby It's You! began performances at Broadway's Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street) Saturday, March 26, 2011, and opened last night, April 27, 2011, at 6:30pm.
