Following two sold-out runs, the innovative young company The Assembly Theater Project presents a return engagement of the critically acclaimed production home/sick from November 1-18, 2012 at The Living Theatre, 21 Clinton Street, NYC. Flux Theatre Ensemble announces that Matthew Archambault (The Lesser Seductions of History), Sol Crespo (Winner of the 2005 HOLA Award for Outstanding Performance of a Featured Actress), Vivia Font (Underneathmybed at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater), Mike Mihm (Odysseus in Ajax in Iraq), Ingrid Nordstrom (Nosedive Productions' Infectious Opportunity), Raushanah Simmons (ScreenPlay at The Flea), and Isaiah Tanenbaum (Jacob's House) will star in their World Premiere of Erin Browne's MENDERS, January 19-February 11 at The Gym at Judson (243 Thompson Street at Washington Square South).

This season, Dixon Place will offer special 25th Anniversary Pricing, featuring free, $5 and $10 tickets for most fall shows as well as lounge specials including $5 beer, wine & well, plus special cocktails nightly.

New Georges (Susan Bernfield, Artistic Director; Sarah Cameron Sunde, Associate Director; Jaynie Saunders Tiller, Managing Director), the OBIE Award-winning downtown theater company founded in 1992, will present 'THE GERM PROJECT,' featuring the work of playwrights Kara Lee Corthron (directed by Kara-Lynn Vaeni), Lynn Rosen (directed by Shoshana Gold), Kathryn Walat (directed by Portia Krieger), and Anna Ziegler (directed by Beatrice Terry). The four 'germs' of full-length plays of scope and adventure commissioned by New Georges for this project will be presented together, fully produced, in a cohesive and satisfying ninety-minute intermission-less evening. There will be a connective thread to the pieces that will take place with visuals and storytelling. 'THE GERM PROJECT' will be performed at 3LD Art & Technology Center, 80 Greenwich Street (just south of Rector). Previews will begin on June 11, and the official Opening Night will be Monday, June 20 at 8:00 p.m. Performances will run through July 9.

The concept of Ajax in Iraq by Ellen McLaughlin is one that instantly intrigues. Taking the classic Sophocles legend and drawing parallels to the war in Iraq certainly raises an eyebrow or two. That being said, even though I am sure this play is an engaging read, when put into the hands of the masterful Flux Theatre Ensemble it becomes all encompassing. Flux has chosen to call it's current season of theatre 'Don't Look Away' and this very accurately describes the inner monologue of the audience at this fascinating production. It's rare to have an experience at the theatre that won't let you go, but this is one of those occasions.
