Shakespeare's star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet will be joined from this week by a storytelling giant, struggling zero hours' workers, inventive Antarctic explorers and a Russian peasant milkman and his daughters, as the Everyman's resident Rep Company prepares to present all five of its inaugural season of shows multiple times between now and July.

FIDDLER ON THE ROOF is not just a revival; it has the hallmarks of a revival meeting. It inspires the audience with its themes of tradition, community, and family, and, under the direction of Austin Pendleton, is a shofar call to stir the hearts and minds of all who would recall the Holocaust motto, "Never again."

Featuring seven productions, New Rep's 2016-2017 season includes Regular Singing, the fourth and final play in Richard Nelson's Apple Family series, presented in collaboration with Stoneham Theatre; Good, CP Taylor's historical, political drama; Fiddler on the Roof, a revival of the Tony award- winning musical, featuring Jeremiah Kissel as Tevye and directed by original Broadway cast member Austin Pendleton; Thurgood, a one-man play featuring Johnny Lee Davenport as Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall; Brecht on Brecht, a play with music based on the collective works of Bertolt Brecht; Golda's Balcony, a one-woman play featuring Bobbie Steinbach as Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir; and The Gift Horse, a sharp comedy by nationally-acclaimed local playwright Lydia R. Diamond in a Boston-area premiere.

The story and themes of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF are especially resonant in Pioneer Theatre Company's new production thanks to solid, heartfelt direction.

The Young People's Teen Musical Theatre Company presents 'Fiddler on the Roof,' the groundbreaking, Tony Award winning Broadway musical recalling the bittersweet story of a Jewish family clinging to its sacred traditions in a rapidly changing world. Set in the early 1900s - against the backdrop of growing anti-Semitism in Tsarist Russia - a hardworking, but affable Jewish milkman must cope with the non-traditional choices of his three eldest daughters when each marries and leaves home.

A musical theatre tradition is coming to Boulder for the holiday season. Winner of 9 Tony Awards when it debuted in 1964, Fiddler on the Roof is a journey of love, loss, faith and family -- a celebration of life and all its challenges. Fiddler on the Roof opens at BDT Stage on November 14, 2014, and plays during the winter holiday season through February 28, 2015.
