Ars Nova has announced this year's New Year's Eve Spectacular, the grand finale to its 10th Anniversary year.

Ars Nova kicks off 2014 with Game Play, this year's incarnation of Ars Nova's annual Play Group production. Game Play, set to play 10 performances from January 29 - February 8, features original short plays and live music inspired by classic board game titles.

Ars Nova announces its December lineup which will feature new work from 2013 Artists-in-Residence and a climactic New Year's Eve fundraiser event to close out its 10th Anniversary Season. All shows are at 8pm unless otherwise noted. Details below!

Ars Nova has announced this year's New Year's Eve Spectacular, the grand finale to its 10th Anniversary year.

Bring the entire family to meet Santa Claus, Saturday December 14, 2013 at 10am, at the Broadway Cabaret Cafe (314 West 53rd Street, New York NY 10019). Every child will meet Santa, pose for pictures (Bring you camera and video devices), and share their holiday wish list. The Breakfast will conclude with Santa and Elves leading the entire crowd in caroling. So come join the Jingle Bell Chorus. Tickets (Just $20pp via Ovationtix, 866-811-4111) include a continental breakfast with coffee and juice.

The 2013 NYC Cabaret Festival - to be held September 21 through October 6, 2013, on three stages (Broadway Cafe, The Red Room, and Broadway Comedy Club Main Stage) - will have a series of shows, workshops and performance opportunities just for Kids and Teens and Families. Tickets for the shows and workshops run $15 at the door and just $10 in advance online (Ovationtix 866-811-4111). Some shows require a beverage purchase. (UMC), in a collaboration with the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, will record three songs from the little-known 1947 musical comedy Barefoot Boy With Cheek featuring performances by Jenn Colella (Chaplin, Closer Than Ever), Max von Essen(Evita, Death Takes a Holiday) and Robert Lenzi (South Pacific, Hello Again). UMC's recordings will be released for free digital download on the New York Public Library's website as part of its Musical of the Month blog series, which recently featured UMC's reconstruction of the Barefoot Boy libretto. The musical has never received a cast album.

Naked Angels, the eclectic downtown theater company that recently partnered with the New School for Drama under the leadership of Naked Angels founding company member Pippin Parker, is pleased to announce that New School alumna Liz Carlson will assume the role of Artistic Director of Naked Angels beginning May 1, 2013, further enhancing the relationship between the two companies. Current Artistic Director Andy Donald, who succeeded Geoffrey Nauffts in July 2011 after two years as Associate Artistic Director, departs the company for a new position as a creative producer at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.

The 52nd Street Project makes a difference in the lives of countless Hell's Kitchen (Clinton) kids by pairing them with theater professionals who mentor them through the creation of original theater. Perhaps the most poignant presentations made by The 52nd Street Project are those in its semi-annual Playmaking series, which features the Project's youngest Hell's Kitchen mentees-ten year-olds who have just begun their theatrical education-writing for accomplished professional actors and director-dramaturges, and revealing their work to a public audience for the first time. Reed Birney, Billy Crudup, Peter Dinklage and Myra Lucretia Taylor, along with other accomplished actors, will perform in Stand by Me: The Reliable Plays, the Project's newest Playmaking show, Stand by Me: The Reliable Plays.

The New School for Drama will welcome Naked Angels, the eclectic downtown theater company, as its producing partner, training young theater artists in an environment of experimentation and collaboration. Naked Angels will be housed in New School facilities and provide undergraduate and graduate theater students a critical professional association with working artists in New York theater.
