Celebrities dressed in Western attire walked the red carpet last Saturday as Rubicon Theatre Company of Ventura presented the American Premiere of the stage play THE MAN WHO SHOT LIBERTY VALANCE by Jethro Compton. Attendees included musician Jim Messina of Loggins & Messina, Poco and Buffalo Springfield and his beautiful wife Michaela; Golden Globe nominated actor Ted Neeley with his wife Leeyan and daughter Tessa; and Emmy Award-winning actor Joe Spano with his daughters Liana and Meili. Cantata Singers' expanded Chamber Series begins tonight, November 17, 2017 at 7:30pm at the American Academy of Arts and Sciences with Made in America, a program of twentieth-century American chamber music by Aaron Copland, Samuel Barber, and Irving Fine. Cantata Singers' Chamber Series will be in residence at the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in Cambridge for the entirety of the 2015-16 Season.

Artists Repertory Theatre extends the world premiere production of the Broadway-scale new musical CUBA LIBRE through November 15. Given each year, in addition to the awards presented to casting directors for their achievements in Theatre, Television, and Film casting, the CSA also gave out the following special awards to Casting Director Lora Kennedy for the Hoyt Bowers Award given for excellence in casting; Harvey Fierstein received The New York Apple Award given to individual for contributions to the New York casting community and Ben Affleck, who received the Career Achievement Award.
