Tickets are now on sale for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at Drama Learning Center in Columbia. The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee centers around a fictional spelling bee in Putnam Valley Middle School. Quirky adolescents compete in the Bee, run by equally quirky grown-ups. The 2005 Broadway production was nominated for six Tony Awards, and won two, including Best Book. As with the original Broadway production, this iteration will also involve audience participation. Select audience members will be brought up on stage to round out the cast as spellers each performance.

Erich Steinbock, Managing Director of The Carlyle Hotel, is pleased to announce that the Café Carlyle's regular Monday night act, Woody Allen & The Eddy Davis New Orleans Jazz Band, is, in a rare move, adding two special performances this week. The celebrated band will play at 8:45 p.m. on both Friday, October 1 and Saturday, October 2. There is a $125 music charge ($85 + $25 drink minimum, bar). Dinner (served from 6:30pm) is required.
