Conceived and directed by HSA's Artistic Director, Alfred Preisser and HSA Prep Director Tracy Johnson, Soul Nativity 2015 is a Gospel extravaganza featuring song, dance, and comedy that explores the story of the Nativity through a modern interpretation.

City Parks Foundation proudly announces the 2013 season of SummerStage presented by AT&T, New York's largest free performing arts festival, bringing over 100 free performances to seventeen parks throughout the five boroughs. With performances ranging from American pop, Latin and World music to dance, comedy and theater, SummerStage fills a vital niche in New York City's summer arts festival landscape. Since its inception twenty-eight years ago, more than six million people from New York City and around the world have enjoyed SummerStage. The festival runs from June 4th until August 29th.

City Parks Foundation has announced its newest theater/music commission King Kong, playing at SummerStage presented by AT&T, New York City's largest free performing arts festival taking place in 17 parks throughout all 5 boroughs. The full season of SummerStage runs from June 4 - August 29.
Khalil Kain, J. Kyle Manzay Set for THE GREAT MACDADDY at 777 Theatre

Korner Theatricals in association with the Negro Ensemble Company, Freedome Bailey and the Hip Hop Theater Festival have announced that TV and film veteran Khalil Kain and Obie award-winning actor and producer J. Kyle Manzay are joining to play the roles of Scag and The Great MacDaddy in the first major revival in 35 years of the Obie award-winning play THE GREAT MACDADDY. Award-winning director Alfred Preisser helms the production, which opens November 29th at 8:00 PM. The Great MacDaddy is the first production at the new 777 Theater in the Broadway theatre district, at 777 Eighth Avenue in New York City. Further casting will be announced at a later date.

This summer, New Haarlem Arts Theatre (NHAT), the professional theater company of City College of New York (CCNY), has expanded its programming and will present mainstage productions of 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom' and 'Sweet Charity,' as well as a show for young audiences and a readings series. The theater, led by Eugene Nesmith, is entering its second season and will again be in residence at Aaron Davis Hall, located at W. 135th Street and Convent Avenue, Manhattan (Hamilton Heights).
