Samatha Massell, star of the celebrated revival of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF and  Disney's THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME at Paper Mill Playhouse, is making her Feinstein's/54 Below solo debut on January 12th! To celebrate this achievement, BroadwayWorld had the chance to talk to her about the recent closing of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF and the important women in her life.

The producers of Sweeney Todd have now announced that Tony Award nominee Norm Lewis (as Sweeney Todd), Tony Award nominee Carolee Carmello (as Mrs. Lovett), Jamie Jackson(as Judge Turpin) and John-Michael Lyles (as Tobias) will join the production starting April 11, 2017.  Matt Doyle (as Anthony), Alex Finke (as Johanna), Betsy Morgan (as Pirelli & Beggar Woman) and Brad Oscar (as The Beadle) will continue with the production. The cast also includes Colin Anderson, Liz Pearce and Monet Sabel.

By popular demand, the producers of the Tooting Arts Club production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street have just announced that a new block of tickets have gone on sale for performances through Sunday, June 4.

Producers of the Tooting Arts Club production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street announced today that the stars of the original London incarnation of the production, Jeremy Secomb (as Sweeney Todd), Siobhan McCarthy (as Mrs. Lovett), Duncan Smith (as Judge Turpin) and Joseph Taylor (as Tobias), will reprise their performances for New York audiences.

The current Broadway revival of Les Miserables, which opened in March 2014 and is scheduled to play through September 4th, celebrates its 1,000th performance today. The current revival has played more than twice as long as the 2006 revival, which closed after just 483 performances. The original 1987 production 6,680 performances and is the fifth-longest running production in Broadway history.

Dan's Paper of the Hamptons offers an unusual complaint from parents regarding the school musical.

The cast celebrated the milestone with a post-performance party at Tony's di Napoli Restaurant, featuring the unveiling of a portrait featuring stars John Owen-Jones (Valjean) and Hayden Tee (Javert) by artist Dan May for the restaurant's Broadway Wall of Fame.  The party was hosted by Bruce Dimpflmaier and Tony's di Napoli and emceed by Valerie Smaldone. Cameron Mackintosh's production of Claude-Michel Schonberg & Alain Boublil's legendary musical LES MISERABLES will celebrate its Second Anniversary Wednesday, March 23 at the Imperial Theatre (239 West 45th Street). The current Broadway version of LES MISERABLES, which will end its acclaimed run September 4, is the only production of the musical currently playing in North America.
