MediaRites, a nonprofit organization that provides innovative, award-winning radio, theater and documentary programs, today announced that it will produce A Language of Their Own by award-winning playwright Chay Yew.

Under the direction of Artistic Director Bob Gunn, MenAlive -- now celebrating 15 seasons as Orange County's first and only Gay Men's Chorus -- will present a spectacular song-and-dance extravaganza showcasing some of Broadway's best musicals of the past 15 years... the very same time frame (from 2001 to 2016) of MenAlive's very existence.

Victory Gardens Theater announces casting for the next show of its 41st season, the world premiere of Hillary and Clinton by Lucas Hnath, directed by Artistic Director Chay Yew. Hillary and Clinton runs April 1 - May 1, 2016, with the press performance on Friday, April 8, 2016, at 7:30 pm at Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue.

Teatro Vista, in association with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events and Victory Gardens Theater, presents the world premiere of Where Did We Sit on the Bus?, created and performed by Brian Quijada and directed by Victory Gardens' Artistic Director, Chay Yew. The production will take place at the Storefront Theater, 66 E. Randolph St. Chicago. Opening/Press night is Thursday, March 17 at 7:30 pm.  Regular performances are from Friday, March 18 through Sunday, April 10. Thursdays - Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Preview performances run from Thursday, March 10 through Wednesday, March 16. All tickets are $15. Vertigo forces Kristin Chenoweth to miss a charity concert appearance!

Tina Fey, Jane Krakowski, Darren Criss, Tituss Burgess, Megan Hilty and Caroline Rhea were just a few of the more than 1,000 people who supported youth in foster care at the 'Voices for the Voiceless: Stars for Foster Kids' event last night at the St. James Theatre in New York City. More than $500,000 was raised in support of older foster kids needing permanent families with the help of Broadway and Hollywood heavy-hitters last night at the St. James Theatre, including Tina Fey, Jane Krakowski, Darren Criss, Tituss Burgess, Megan Hilty, Caroline Rhea and many more. The inaugural event, hosted by Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley with BeachBody.com, supported youth in foster care through You Gotta Believe, New York's only nonprofit specifically focused on finding permanent families for youth in foster care aged 10 year and older, and the Council on Adoptable Children (COAC).

April 14, 2015…It was an awards show born in a moment of relevance. An electrified contingent of professional Los Angeles Intimate theater companies and their friends sold out Los Angeles theatre Center to support the first-everSTAGE RAW THEATRE AWARDS. Picking up where the LA WEEKLY Awards, left off, and hosted by the Celebration Theatre and the hilarious duo of Alec Mapa and Parvesh Cheena, it was a night to celebrate the best of 99-seat theatre and a rallying cry against the Equity proposal and referendum that is currently being voted on. Impassioned speeches were given by Steven Leigh Morris and Bill Raden to open the show, followed by an introduction of the original plaintiffs in the Equity wars of 30 years ago who all received a standing ovation. One of those plaintiffs, Gary Grossman, gave a rousing speech as he presented the "Queen of the Angels" award to Rebecca Metz, who brought down the house with her heartfelt message of community and standing up for what is right in the face of adversity. The emotion in the room was palpable from start to finish and it was a fitting start to a tradition that it sure to last for decades to come!
