The acclaimed Jewish Plays Project will bring an incredible story of intergenerational and cultural conflict to life in a workshop reading of 'How to Conquer America-A Mostly True History of Yogurt' on Monday, December 10, at 7:30 p.m. at the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan. One In The Chamber, being presented at the Mead Theatre Lab, does attempt to politicize this issue, or attempt to come to a resolution. Rather, the play (first produced last fall in Los Angeles), shows the aftermath of one of these families in a raw and gritty production.

Red Bull Theater's Revelations Readings kicked off its new season with a gala benefit reading of WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE'S THE TEMPEST, featuring Michael Cerveris as Prospero. Directed by Jesse Berger the cast also included De'Adre Aziza, Gerry Bamman, Clifton Duncan,Angel Desai, Sean Patrick Doyle, Glenn Fleshler, Carman Lacivita, Drew Ledbetter, Matthew Rauch, Jay O. Sanders,Stephen Spinella, Raphael Nash Thompson, Auden Thornton,Michael Urie, Marc Vietor, and more. The Tempest featured original live music by Greg Pliska. It took place for one night only on October 20th at Playwrights Horizons, 416 West 42nd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues. While 'Bethesda' and 'Hey, Hey LBJ' - the first two Fringe offerings I saw - don't fall into the category of being ready for primetime, there are several good elements in both pieces from which to build.

Forum Theatre in conjunction with producers Adrienne Nelson and Ian Armstrong, present a Special Engagement of Eve Ensler's Necessary Targets. The evening will feature a light reception (with drinks and dessert) followed by a reading of Necessary Targets and a post-show discussion. VIP tickets (premium reserved seating) are $75 and General Admission tickets are $50. All proceeds will benefit the productions and artistic & community programming of Forum's 2012/2013 Season.
