It was announced yesterday, April 28, that this spring, NYC Parks will launch the Greeter Corps, a volunteer team of ambassadors whose job it is to represent Parks in the community. Building on the success of the Parks Opportunity Program (POP) Greeter program and the Central Park Greeter program, volunteers will welcome patrons at entrances to parks, beaches, and playgrounds, inform patrons of available amenities and programs, gauge the public's opinion and interests, and serve as eyes and ears for the park's condition and environme

Mill Pond Park in the Bronx has been named February's Park of the Month. New York Philharmonic Music Director Designate Alan Gilbert will lead the New York Philharmonic in five free concerts this summer throughout the City of New York, from July 14 to 20.
