Last night, September 17, Broadway stars united to sing the songs of a music legend in 'Broadway Sings Michael Jackson' at Le Poisson Rouge. The concert, which featured some of Jackson's biggest hits, was held at 9:30 PM.

CAROLS FOR A CURE is the annual two-disc holiday CD compilation of original songs and holiday classics which benefits BC/EFA. These CDs boast the best voices from the worlds of Broadway, Off-Broadway and national tours. A full track list for this year's 14th edition has not yet been announced, but the cast of Broadway's SPIDER-MAN was already hard a work this week recording their track for the album. The off-Broadway production of Rent will close after the performance today, September 9, at New World Stages. The production will have played 32 previews and 450 performances. Rent, which is written by Jonathan Larson and directed by Michael Greif, opened at the theater on August 11, 2011. On Thursday, Jan 28, 2010, 6:30 PM, Musical Mondays revisits The Dirty Hippie Jam Band Project, the journey of a group of modern day hippies as they follow their favorite band across the country. Music is by Daniel Israel, Lyrics by Phoebe Kreutz and Book by Adam Mathias and Phoebe Kruetz.

The Rock Tenor makes its debut this summer beginning July 8, starring vocalist Rob Evan (Broadway performer and lead singer for the multi-platinum band The Trans-Siberian Orchestra), who conceived the show with director Vincent Marini (former Producing Artistic Director of New Jersey's Lenape Regional Performing Arts Center) officially opens July 15 and closes August 23. The Rock Tenor fuses rock and roll anthems, Broadway classics, opera favorites, country rhythms and classical melodies in a unique performance that showcases these familiar works in a whole new light. The Rock Tenor will be performed at The Wilma Theater, located at 265 South Broad Street. Tickets are $25-$40 and are available at www.therocktenor.com or by phone at (215) 546-7824.
