Fathers and Sons is the third project to be produced as a part of the Hansberry Project at ACT, a professional Black theatre company dedicated to the artistic exploration of African American life, history, and culture.

ACT Launches Central Heating Lab Initiative

A Contemporary Theatre launches its innovative Central Heating Lab (CHL) initiative during the 2008 season. CHL is devoted to nurturing and supporting new works, new talent, and local artists spanning not only theatre, but also cabaret, music, dance, spoken word, film, and performance and visual art. Uniquely positioned to provide the space and resources to the development of new projects in a collaborative environment, ACT will partner with emerging and seasoned local artists, and give them the heat, sustenance and pressure required to experiment, grow and transform their work and reach new audiences.

ACT Artistic Director Kurt Beattie announces six Mainstage plays for ACT - A Contemporary Theatre's 2008 Season, to start March, 14 2008. ACT will utilize both the Allen Theatre, an arena theatre with seating in-the-round, and the thrust-style Falls Theatre during the 2008 season.
