The Depot Players Choose 101 DALMATIANS for Summer Program

Does your child need an enriching summer activity? Is your child a future Broadway star? Join us this summer and Act Up at the Depot for theatre training in a fun, supportive environment. Acting Up is an ongoing summer program provided by the Depot Players for area children. Led by trained Depot volunteers the program teaches children the basics of acting, stage movement, dance and singing all in an exciting and nurturing environment. The program is limited to the first 20 students enrolled. The program culminates to two public performances of the staged musical version of the classic Disney movie 101 Dalmatians featuring the adorable Dalmatian puppies and the evil Cruella Deville.

The program dates include: Sign Up Dates: June 1 at 2pm and June 2 at 5pm. First rehearsal and mandatory parent's meeting is Monday June 3 at 6pm. Music rehearsals will be Wednesdays June 12 and 19 noon-3pm . The week long camp program will run Monday June 24-Friday June 28 9-3pm. Public performances of the production will be held Friday June 28 and Saturday June 29 at 6pm. Cost for the program is $150 . Whole Backstage Theatre Announces Little Actors' Camp

This 3 day mini camp is for preschool children who have NOT entered Kindergarten. Children ages 3-5 will have the opportunity to experience theatre the way the "BIG KIDS" do. Children will attend acting, singing, movement, crafts, costumes, and other fun theatre related classes.

A parents' waiting area will be arranged where parents may linger near by their sweeties. Reading will not be required. A mini revue will be presented on Friday June 28th at 1130AM in the Dot Moore Auditorium. Cost is $40 per child.

The camp tuition includes all materials and supplies, a snack each day, and a camp t-shirt. Camp dates are June 26, 27, 28 8:30a.m. - 11:30a.m. at the Whole Backstage Theatre 1120 Rayburn Avenue - Guntersville, AL 35976 If your actor was involved in Winter Term, you will not need a new form for camp registration. As Newsday reported, Stone's revisions 'are sweetly ingenious, and the show is a dream.' Stone reshaped the 1946 book to create a Wild West show-within-a-show that frames the ageless 'Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better' love story of sharpshooters Annie Oakley and Frank Butler. Stone has added a secondary romance between the younger sister of Frank's bothersome assistant Dolly, and a boy who is (to Dolly's horror) part Native American. 'The book has been updated in ways that pass p.c. muster,' reported Time Magazine, 'without losing all the fun.' ANNIE GET YOUR GUN scored a bulls eye when it returned to Broadway in 1999, starring Bernadette Peters and sporting a revised libretto by Tony, Oscar and Emmy winner Peter Stone. As Newsday reported, Stone's revisions 'are sweetly ingenious, and the show is a dream.' Stone reshaped the 1946 book to create a Wild West show-within-a-show that frames the ageless 'Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better' love story of sharpshooters Annie Oakley and Frank Butler. Stone has added a secondary romance between the younger sister of Frank's bothersome assistant Dolly, and a boy who is (to Dolly's horror) part Native American. 'The book has been updated in ways that pass p.c. muster,' reported Time Magazine, 'without losing all the fun.' Joined to the new book, of course, is that amazing Irving Berlin score, featuring hit after hit after hit. An Evening with Two Icons, starring Ron Harris and Greg Screws, will beheld at Merrimack Hall tonight, April 20, 2013.

Join us as we celebrate the return of our two friends, Ron Harris and Greg Screws, to the Merrimack Hall stage. Ron and Greg have both performed one-man shows in past seasons as fundraisers for our Johnny Stallings Arts Program. This year, they combine their styles for one hilarious evening of storytelling! Ron Harris retired after a 40-year career as an educator, including 20 years as director of Lee High School's Drama Magnet Program. For 30 years, Greg Screws has spent his time writing down stories from his career instead of actually working. We are grateful to these two icons for sharing their stories, humor, and hearts with Merrimack Hall and our audiences. Details.
