Alan Jackson to Perform at 2013 OC Fair, 7/17

Alan Jackson will perform on Wednesday, July 17, as part of the Toyota Summer Concert Series at the Pacific Amphitheatre at the 2013 OC Fair. As always, concert and action sports tickets include Fair admission.

Tickets for this event goes on sale Saturday, May 25, at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster or at the OC Fair & Event Center Box Office, which is open Wednesday 5-9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Due to construction scheduled through June, the Box Office is only accessible through Gate 4 off Arlington Drive near Fairview Road. Blake Mills Signs with Verve Records, Second Album to Debut in the Fall

Verve Records and Record Collection, today announced they have signed renowned guitarist, songwriter, and producer Blake Mills. Mills is currently in the studio putting final touches on his second full-length album, which will be released in fall of 2013. The self-produced album will be the follow up to 2010's critically acclaimed album Break Mirrors.

"Blake Mills is the rarest of artists," said Verve Music Group General Manager Robert Smith. "He's a songwriter, guitar virtuoso, producer, band leader, session master, a true iconoclast and wise beyond his years. We are very pleased to make a home for him at Verve to explore his many creative and commercial avenues. His future is wonderfully unknown, and Verve is honored to be a part of it."

Additionally, today NOISEY premiered a new episode of its series, Guitar Moves, which centers on Mills and series host Matt Sweeney. The episode features a brief guitar tutorial from Mills as well as an intimate musical conversation that is as entertaining and informative as it is nerdy. Future Guitar Moves episodes will feature James Williamson from The Stooges, Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age, Dan Auerbach from the Black Keys, and songwriter (and frequent Mills collaborator) Cass McCombs.

At 26 years old, the Venice-based musician has already stacked up a career's worth of gigs as a session and touring guitarist. He is editor of the Selected Poems of Steve Carey (Sub Press), and is co-editor with Anselm Berrigan and Alice Notley of The Collected Poems of Ted Berrigan and The Selected Poems of Ted Berrigan (both University of California Press). The Andreas Kapsalis & Goran Ivanovic Guitar Duo to Release New Album BLACKMAIL, 6/3

The Andreas Kapsalis & Goran Ivanovic Guitar Duo will release "Blackmail," their first studio record since their 2009 self-titled debut, at their album release party Monday, June 3rd, 2013 at Martyrs' in Chicago. Greek-American ten finger guitarist Andreas Kapsalis and Serbian-American nylon string classical guitarist Goran Ivanovic continue to experiment with the boundaries of jazz and classical guitar music, mixing in accents they picked up touring the world over the last four years. An intriguing album of eleven new acoustic guitar compositions, Blackmail is an unguarded moment of self-expression for the prodigious Chicago-based guitar duo.

Recorded over the course of four days at Chicago's Drake studio, "Blackmail" takes its name from the 1929 Alfred Hitchcock film, which Kapsalis and Ivanovic imagined themselves scoring. Indeed all the songs on Blackmail share a dramatic quality, complete with plot twists, rising action, climax and resolution. Tellingly, when asked about their influences, both Kapsalis and Ivanovic name artists working in mediums other than music, from filmmakers to novelists. To hear Kapsalis tell it, storytelling is not just the duo's inspiration, it's also their goal.

"We're basically composing works inspired by films, books, folklore, myths and even realities," says the self-taught Kapsalis. "We approach composing with the mentality that we're here to tell a story, albeit with guitars."

"Many of the songs on Blackmail are fast, furious, dramatic, chaotic compositions, full of tempo changes, highs and lows," explains Ivanovic, who studied classical guitar at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg. "To us, they explore a lot of mysterious moods and feelings.'"

Blackmail is also in part informed by the duo's travels and relentless concert tour schedule. Over the last four years, Kapsalis and Ivanovic's touring has taken the pair to India, Spain, Poland, Germany, Canada and France, as well as across the United States. The Duo, already inspired by a hodgepodge of musical styles including Greek, Arabic, Spanish, Gypsy, Flamenco and Balkan folk traditions, expanded their sphere of influence to include new discoveries like Brazilian Choro. The result is eleven new songs full of complex rhythmic variations, with the Duo's virtuosity on full display.

Elektra Releases BEHIND THE CANDELABRA Soundtrack Today

Elektra Records has announced the release of "BEHIND THE CANDELABRA - MUSIC FROM THE HBO ORIGINAL FILM," the musical companion to the highly anticipated HBO Films production. The album arrives at all leading digital retailers today, May 21st; Behind the Candelabra debuts on HBO on Sunday, May 26th at 9pm (check local listings).

Behind the Candelabra stars Academy Award winner Michael Douglas as the legendary Liberace and Academy Award winner Matt Damon as Scott Thorson, the famously flamboyant showman's longtime partner and confidant. BLACK BOOTS Releases New Single 'Streetwalker' Today

Buzzed-about electronic/rock duo BLACK BOOTS has just announced the release of their new single "Streetwalker" out today, May 21 on Ultra Music. The duo also recently shot a music video for the song in their Las Vegas hometown to be exclusively unveiled in the coming weeks.

BLACK BOOTS-LIGHTKNIFE (production) and MIKEY FRANCIS (vocals, production)-explore further into the depths of song and verse with "Streetwalker," the follow-up single to "Flash Of Light." Shimmering synths build alongside MIKEY's elegant delivery as the song swells into an irresistible refrain. Words will not be forgotten on this towering dance floor rollercoaster that features a hypnotic female vocal cameo fromMIKEY's cousin Katie Roberts.

"'Streetwalker' is about struggle, loss and redemption of one's self," shares the group. "When you have hit rock bottom, when you have lost all that is important, when you stare at yourself in the mirror and don't recognize the person you have become, we hope you can find comfort in this song because you are not alone. There is something bigger and better out there for you to be a part of. Find that and find your way home."

The song did not immediately come together; instead, it was written over the course of many sleepless nights in a small little studio about 20 miles outside of the glitz and glam of the Vegas Strip. "It was usually about 5 a.m., in the twilight hours (right before the sun comes up and the vampires put their decadence to rest) that we would come up with our breakthrough moments of the track," BLACK BOOTS reveals. "It certainly didn't come easy; in fact, we were stuck on this one lyrically and musically for quite some time. In the end it became quite the struggle to finish, mostly because we realized its great potential and having spent so much time with it, 'Streetwalker' became very personal and meaningful to us. We simply couldn't settle with it until it was absolute perfection in our minds."

This unrelenting obsession with artistic perfection has served the band well. Francis' glam-rock pipes complemented the powerful energy of their space-agey progressive house set beautifully, and made for a unique experience for a crowd who may not have expected to get down to a live performance when they set foot into the venue earlier that night. Black Boots' set was chock full of electro bangers and progressive favorites-and, as expected, to hear 'Flash of Light' live for the first time brought forth huge emotion." STUCK IN LOVE Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Out Today

Varèse Sarabande Records will release the Stuck in Love - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack digitally today, May 21st and on CD and vinyl June 11, 2013. The film features an original score by Mike Mogis and Nathaniel Walcott (from Bright Eyes), and new songs "At Your Door" (by Mike Mogis and Nathaniel Walcott featuring Big Harp), "You Are Your Mother's Child" (by Conor Oberst) and "Somersaults In Spring" (by Friends of Gemini: Corina Figueroa Escamilla, Nathaniel Walcott and Mike Mogis).

"My pipe dream was to have Bright Eyes, my favorite band score the film," said the film's writer/director Josh Boone. Music supervisors Andy Ross and Laura Katz reached out to them. "Not only did they make that happen, bringing the great Mike Mogis and Nathaniel Walcott on board, but Conor Oberst generously contributed an original song that fit so perfectly into the fabric of the film that I still get goosebumps every time I hear it."

Mike Mogis and Nathaniel Walcott's musical involvement together dates back to the mid-90s, when Mogis invited (the then-high school junior) Walcott over to his studio (then housed in his parents' basement in Lincoln, Nebraska) to record trumpet on an early Lullaby For The Working Class album. Nathaniel Walcott is a composer, arranger, keyboard player, and trumpet player. In addition to being a member of Bright Eyes and Conor Oberst's Mystic Valley Band, he has worked closely with many artists, both live and in the studio, such as The Faint, M. Ward, Rilo Kiley, Pete Yorn, and Broken Bells.

Mike Mogis has been writing and producing since the early 90s. Deeply embedded in the burgeoning music scene in Omaha, Nebraska, Mogis began his career as a member of the now legendary Lullaby for the Working Class and has since gone on to become one of the most acclaimed producers of his generation. Being a permanent member of Bright Eyes, along with Nathaniel Walcott and Conor Oberst, Mogis achieved critical success with 2002's Lifted or the Story is in the Soil, Keep Your Ear to the Ground, and later both critical and commercial success with I'm Wide Awake...It's Morning. Other works include Monsters of Folk, of which he is a member, ST, Rilo Kiley's More Adventurous, First Aid Kit's The Lion's Roar The Faint's Wet From Birth, and Curvise's Ugly Organ have again proven his ability to capture the sounds of various genres and artistic approaches. His musical talents also include the ability to play a wide variety of instruments including guitar, keyboards, pedal steel, mandolin, and countless others. With his impressive resume and creative versatility, he is one of today's most celebrated producers.

"Music played an important role in the writing and making of Stuck in Love," said Boone. Most of the songs that are in the film were written into the script. Boone had created mix CDs for each of the cast members and gave them the CDs to use as inspiration. "I often saw them listening to their iPods between takes."

Three years past his divorce, veteran novelist Bill Borgens (Academy Award nominee Greg Kinnear) can't stop obsessing over, let alone spying on, his ex-wife Erica (Academy Award winner Jennifer Connelly), who ignominiously left him for another man. Even as his neighbor-with-benefits, Tricia (Kristen Bell, Veronica Mars, House of Lies), tries to push him back into the dating pool, he remains blind to anyone else¹s charms. Meanwhile, his fiercely independent collegiate daughter Samantha (Lily Collins, Mirror Mirror) is publishing her first novel while recoiling at the very thought of first love with a diehard romantic (Logan Lerman, The Perks Of Being A Wallflower); and his teen son Rusty (Nat Wolff, The Naked Brothers Band, Peace, Love And Misunderstanding) is trying to find his voice, both as a fantasy writer and as the unexpected boyfriend of a dream girl with unsettlingly real problems. As each of these situations mounts into a tangled trio of romantic holiday crises, it brings the Borgens to surprising revelations about how endings become beginnings.

"Music is one of the most powerful tools a filmmaker can use to evoke emotion," Boone explained. "I am forever indebted to the great musicians who lent us theirs to help bring this film to life."

Millennium Entertainment presents Stuck in Love, in theaters June 14, 2013. The Stuck in Love - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack will be available digitally today, May 21st, and on CD and vinyl on June 11, 2013. The first single that will be serviced to radio is "At Your Door" by Mike Mogis and Nathaniel Walcott featuring Big Harp.
